It was the A/C.
I rarely turn off or start my truck with the A/C left on, (something my DAD taught me long ago :D ) but today I did and just happened to have the hood up and noticed something different.
I just went outside, turned it on and off several times.
A/C on - Hiss :(
A/C off...
Well I just got off the phone with the gage Mfg. (Danin - DiPricol) they said I melted the gage and the connector! They are replacing it for free. I guess I need to use the sun shade.
Phoenix SUN: 1
Dash gage pod: 0
A/C always off on cool down. I sent the gage, wires and probe back to Dipricol. I'll post thier comments.
p. s. It's amazing how naked I feel without an EGT gage... ... .
tschwab, how can you say there is no problem. Everybodys towing situation is different. When I tow on certian grades the 48RE hunts all over the place. With or without cruise control. IT IS A PROBLEM for some of us.
I have just gone over 11K miles. All of the sudden my EGT's come down as fast as they go up. I live Phoenix. We are at 113 degrees today! Before when I would get anywhere I would sit for 3 or 4 min. and wait for the temp to come down to 300. Now it only takes 10-15 seconds. Whats going on here...
Is this normal for a 20 min. drive on the Fwy, then 10 min. in city traffic? Here in Phoenix it was 105 today. Does that affect the temps? When I tow I only see 220 or so going up a grade. My probe is in the rear facing test port. Does this make a difference?
