thanks to everyone for their replys and help. went over everything again with my son and we decided to go ahead Monday morning and take it into the garage 40miles away. it will probably cost alot to get it fixed-but-thats the way it is. thanks again everyone.

thanks for the input... I've had pretty bad luck when I have had any of my vehicles in the shops ---so--I try to do most of my own work... every once in a while, I have thought I couldn't work on something and then let a shop work on it... Then regret it ... end up having to usually redo it...
