Well now that I know that, perhaps next time I change the fluid I will buy a large and strong magnet to stick on the bottom in addition to the factory one.
Thanks for the help guys!
How do you remove the magnet from the bottom? I can feel it in there, but didn't know how to remove it. I lifted the back of the truck like you said, and that does help a lot.
Well it makes me feel a little better knowing others have seen the same thing. I had the machine shop at work take 1/2" off the right side Fast cooler. It wouldn't fit with my aftermarket exhaust. I also had them put a 1/2" NPT hole in the bottom of each one. My intent was to put a temp sender...
I just changed the fluid in my NV5600 and installed the Fast Coolers. Truck has 173,000 miles on it. Will admit I have not been very good about changing the oil in the transmission. Have only done it twice before. The other times I changed it I did not pull the PTO covers, just drained the oil...
I started to pay a lot more attention to it this week and seems anytime it goes from a High RPM to a low RPM quickly it goes through the oscillation. I am starting to think it is a normal thing, but will test rail pressure when I get a chance and post back what I find.
Thanks for everyones help.
I have a 2004. Just rolled over 173K. The steering components are well on their way out, to the point last time the alignment was done the tech said he did the best he could. I have made the decision to drive this truck forever. With that said, I upgrade everything when it gets replaced...
2 summers ago I changed my radiator because it had a leak in it. There were about a 150,000 on the truck. Since I had easy access to the front of the engine with it out I changed the water pump, the power steering pump, and harmonic dampener. The summer before that it got a new AC system. When I...
Thanks guys for the ideas. I will start to look into them, but sounds like this might be "normalish"?
I have never noticed it when in anything other then neutral.
The lift pump got replaced with the in the tank style about 25,000 miles ago. When that thing went it went fast. Of course I was on...
I have recently noticed that there is an oscillation in the engine RPMs. This only seems to happen after the truck has been running at freeway speeds for an extended period of time. When I take the exit ramp, and shift into neutral the engine RPMs will oscillate from idle to idle plus 200-300...
