Oh yeah... I knew what Wingate meant by "making oil" and I pray that never happens. My last 06 never had a drip either but the front diff was always oily so now I guess I know why. We extended the tube a bit. Hopefully it puts that little bit of oil on the road instead of the front of my...
Wingate... the oil level remains constant. Not making it and I don't think I am losing all that much through the breather. I hate a leaky vehicle and the oil fumes stink sometimes.
I am finding a small amount of oil (black and sooty so I know what it is) coming from the crankcase breather tube. It seems to drip and then go without dripping for a while. When the truck is hot... like when I am towing... I will notice a slight oil smell when walking around the truck. Anyway...
When you talk to Dave Riccio, tell him you were referred by Jeff with the white Mega. He'll know. This shop does alot of the little things right. He replaced my rear main seal on the engine for me when they rebuilt the transmission. It has since started to leak and he said bring it back in and we will...
I just had my 06 rebuilt by Tricity Transmission in Tempe... just south of the Tempe Marketplace. I had them build me their Toyhauler Transmission. Ask for Dave and he will treat you right. They have allways stood up and backed their work no matter what. They have been doing our trannies for...
I recognize the fact I am no engineer, but I still don't understand the "cheater bar" example if the trailer is not any farther from the truck than it was before. The actual distance from the pinbox to the bed is the same as with my 5er hitch. Yeah, I undertand the method of attachment is...
I just have seen too many 6. 0L Powerstrokes have issues and too many Chevys fall apart to think that one brand is devoid of problems. They all have issues. My cousin just lost one of the steering linkages in his 06 Duramax while in a parking lot! What if that had happened on the freeway...
Harvey... . I have heard none of this except for the thread here. When I Google the GN adapters, most of the responses are "Love em and been using them for years". You would think there would be some type of warning out there or something with regard to their use. Not saying your point isn't...
Even if you go pre-turbo, the exact location makes for some interesting differences. I my last truck, I had the EGT probe at the accumulator manifold right before the turbo... I thought it would give me a good sampling of the EGT right before the turbo. Now in my current 06, we put it in the...
Jelag..... mine is a PopUp Industries RV2. It only gives 9 inches of offset but is still enough for the trailer to clear my cab for most any turn. I love it and I also bought an Eye Ball remote camera that helps me hook up on the first try. Very cool little gaget as it is cordless and I set it...
Rusty thanks for the info. We'll see what happens and I hope it holds together. Maybe I should have the pinbox attachment point on the frame reinforced?
I have a shortbed on my Megacab and so I needed an offset hitch to allow clearance to keep the front end of my 5er away from my cab. I have the BW hitch setup and then bought an RV 2 gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter. I bolted it to my 5th wheel's pinbox and I just towed with it last weekend for...
Well... on a brighter note... . diesel came down to $3. 99/gal yesterday and regular unleaded went up to $3. 99/gal so I don't know what's going on but I like that dynamic! I remember back in 06 when I bought my last truck, diesel was so cheap I felt like I was cheating somehow by driving this...
