2007 5.9 who loves them who dont.

Love it! I sold a bombed and totally trouble free 2001 Ford 7. 3 to buy this truck and was a bit worried as to rather I was making a mistake. End result, best truck I've ever owned bar none. I will confess, the turbo went out at 8,000 miles but was told that Holshot had recieved a bad batch of...

    Handheld GPS Advice?

Thanks for all the replies guys, I've made up my mind. I'm going with the 60CSx but I am going to give Jaysyl's Colorado a look before I do. I'm estatic t know I can use it on the streets as well as the trails. Thanks

    Handheld GPS Advice?

Thanks guys, that's what I needed to know. I feel even better knowing I can use it on the road as well and get a little dual usage out of it. I did go to Garmin's site and checked the maps but it really didn't tell me what sort of detail I could expect in North Louisiana. Particularly Kisatchie...

    Handheld GPS Advice?

Guys, I'm looking to buy my first GPS and must admit I am pretty ignorant as to all the features avalible. My primary use would be for horse back riding in places like National Forests and such. I have heard that some offroad maps can be downloaded but I have no idea on where to find them. But...

    Dually or SRW

Here, here Mr. Barlow. That was one of the best learning experiences in getting used to my new dually. I agree with everyone on the virtues of the extra two wheels, and this was after yrs of driving a SRW one ton, I was damned if I was going to go DRW. But once I did, my o my. It's the...

JT's Part & Accessories - VERY Negative Experience

I also agree with alerting the BBB. I had an issue with Artic Cat and their warranty. Well, actually Arctic Cat and warranty shouldn't be said in the same sentence. Before, couldn't get the time of day. After filing the complaint, I was a favored customer that they just couldn't help enough. And...

    Smarty Jr Vs MP-8

Thanks! Thanks for the education guys. I did a few searches but all the conversations I found were among those who know all this inside and out. As I'm making the transition from a 7. 3, I was like a fish outta water. So thanks again. I've made up my mind based on the above and everyone...

    increasing efficiency

Thanks for that bit of information. Propane is something I've been considering but I just don't know how the metrics pan out, nor do I know anyone who's running it. Now that diesel is over 3 bucks a gallon, is it more viable? To calculate that we'd need to know roughly how much propane you'd use...

    increasing efficiency

What about propane injection? It does make the combustion process more efficient and keeps the oil cleaner. Or so they say. And if it's 4x4, what about changing the front hubs to free wheelers? Course you can buy a lot of diesel for what these mods cost. Just a thought.

    Any other Harley owners?

First of all, a big hearty thanks for your service 13MWZ! And yes, I'm a fellow handle bar twister. Been on two wheels since me & dad built me a mini bike at 6 yrs old. Been on Harleys since 1980. Since then I've built and painted my own custom and still dabble a little in custom paint when I...

    Smarty Jr Vs MP-8

Hey Guys, I've read all I can read on here regarding the Smarty Jr and it sounds pretty good. But I haven't been able to find much user information on the MP-8. One thing I like about the MP-8 is the in cab power change capability. As for what I want to do with the truck, it's my daily...

    Cloth or Leather Seats?

That is some very good advice and I'm glad someone thought to mention it. One other tip. My truck didn't come with leather so the dealership was going to do me a "favor" and have it installed for me for $1,200. But they were tied up and didn't have anyone to run the truck to the shop and have it...

    Cloth or Leather Seats?

Leather Leather, hands down. I've had both over the years and only one bad experience when it comes to leather. And that is with our current 2005 Ford Expedition. It just came with crappy leather. Pros to leather: Easy to clean, you wipe it down and it's clean. Easy to care for. I condition...

Life long Ford owner, I've switched to Dodge

Thanks for the welcome Harvey. And true, these trucks may not be perfect. But after 6+ yrs in my 2001 Superduty, I have to say I sure don't miss that weird brake fade thing or the almost total lack of power steering at idle. And the higher cab noise. By comparison, this new Dodge drives and...

Life long Ford owner, I've switched to Dodge

I have the automatic, sorry for not putting it in the sig. One thing odd, I have a very long driveway that gets very steep before it intersects the road. When I pull my 5th wheel up this grade the engine is reving very high, much higher than my Ford did on the same grade with the same trailer...
