Everything was working fine last week when I drove the truck. My employees took it to a jobsite yesterday, and when they came back said they could not hear the whistling coming out of the exhaust like it normally does.
I've checked the boots on the going to the air to air and they seemed...
Not sure how to search threads here, but my turbo no longer makes the whining noise. It’s a deleted truck with 123000 miles roughly. Engine brake doesn’t work but truck makes up to 17 psi boost going up hills and running 80 to 85 mph. Otherwise boost is aroun 5-8 psi.
I’m just not sure how to...
I just drove it home and it looks like the torque converter is unlocking around 1250 rpms when you are slowing down. I revved it up and it does come down in steps, not a smooth return to idle.
Stuck injector sound like a correct diagnosis?
Thanks for the replies.
Will the RPMs stay up even while in park with the bad injectors?
I lean toward torque converter staying locked because it doesn’t coast to a stop sign the same as the 03. When should torque converter unlock?
Also, I noticed yesterday that if you put the throttle down...
Clean air filter, and passages. No engine codes. 183,000 miles.
Truck runs great, has plenty of giddyup after that one or two seconds. In fact it has more push you into your seat power than the 03 after it decides to go, it is just those one or two seconds at the start. You sure don’t want...
2005 4x4 diesel. When you takeoff from a stoplight or go to cross the intersection this truck takes a couple seconds for the rpms to come up. This is even when you put throttle to floor. Once it spools up it runs great. Is this common for this truck, or is there something wrong? I bought it...
I agree it didn't act like a low fuel issue. That is why I thought it might be a throttle sensor issue because it wouldn't respond to my throttle imput.
It is hard to describe it, but when I said it would rev up, it would rev a little, then quit and act like it was going to die, then pick back...
Went to my parents and checked my truck, it started and I drove it to my shop. Changed the fuel filter in it and I couldn't hear the lift pump coming on to fill up the fuel filter. It was bad, so I put a new lift pump in and everything seems to be ok now. I probably need to get the FAS pump...
My 03 suddenly started stuttering and wouldn't accelerate. It had been running fine, but when I went to take off from a stop sign, it wouldn't accelerate and would violently rev up to around 2000 rpms then drop to 1000. If I let off the throttle it would idle fine. I legged it 20 miles home...
Transengineer: how many miles are a few more miles? I cannot afford to be down this spring as it is my busiest season. Sounds like a new transmission is the way to go by the time parts and labor are thrown at this thing. I can't remember what they quoted me for the transmission.
Thanks for...
The mechanic is separate from the transmission shop. He has seen 3 of them go, all from the same company. This company is in the boring business and are known to be hard on vehicles. Their last one to go was a 2012 truck.
I hadn't had any troubles with mine until our first cold snap of the...
Here are the codes.
P0730. Gear ratio code
P0761. Shift solenoid C performance code
P0796. Pressure control solenoid 3 performance
There is some fine metal particles in the fluid and my transmission guy thought those were causing the problems with the solenoid performances. He also said there...
I don't have the exact codes, and my truck is at the shop right now. I will ask the shop on monday what they were. The transmission shop did not think the torque
converter was producing the pressures needed and was causing the low solenoid pressures. He thought the torque converter was coming...
