    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Starting problems-fuel leak

Need help to identify a hard starting problem. I believe that the injector pump keeps on loosing "prime". It acts like it does after changing the fuel filter. Cranks for a few times and then catches and starts rough before it smooths out. Noticed a small spray of fuel coming from the "return to...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Factory ECM has fast idle option in cold weather

Plug in vs. High Idle A question that I've had is which is better. 1. Plug in the block heater. This means that the factory high idle will never work, or 2. Leave the truck outside, and rely on the "high idle" to warm it up. As cold running as my truck is, I don't understand why DC...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Remote Starter

Does anyone have any information on a remote starter? What I've seen is that most of the brands, use a simple time delay for "diesel installation". I believe that it would be better to tap off the "wait to start" light, but I haven't found one that provides this option. Does anyone know of one?

    Problem with brakes

Folks, I've developed a problem that I thought was a simple one... . However I seem to be stumped. After pulling my 8 to 9K TT about 200 miles, I noticed a grinding noise coming from the right rear when I stepped on the brakes. The noise is EXACTLY what you'd hear when the brake shoes are...

    Camper marker lights hook up?

Correct me if I am wrong, but your tail lights is engerized any time that your park lights are on. Used your Tail Light circuit. Besides, if you have the OEM "Tow Package", the tail light circuit at the plug comes through a seperate relay. This prevents your added marker lights from "loading...

    Overdrive

Towing in OD I tow a 8-9K TT (depending whether the wife packs the entire house in it). With the 4. 10, I am not comfortable with the OD locked out. The revs on the engine are just too high, at highway speeds. In OD, I run 60mph@2000rpm... perfect. I always figure if the trany takes a dump...

    Cold Idle Engine Warming

High idle If I had it to do over again, I would have gone with a aftermarket PS high idle kit. But I have already paid for 2 (two) reflashes... . and it still has not worked. Now that I have money invested... . I'm going to get DC to make it work!!!! But this may take all winter!

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Factory ECM has fast idle option in cold weather

enabling the fast idle Can anyone tell me if there was a seperate setting to enable the fast idle? I watched the tech enable the "3-cylinder operation" but the tech could NOT find an "enabling" function for the fast idle. But of course, neither has worked! It has not been cold enough for...

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Factory ECM has fast idle option in cold weather

Screwed again! Well, after paying for IT twice... IT still doesn't work. What a RIP OFF!!! I'm going to call DC in the morning... for what it's worth!

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Factory ECM has fast idle option in cold weather

What a hassle! Thanks to all of the TDR members that have provided information on this re-flash. But DC must be playing games with us! First I had my truck re-flashed in November..... it didn't work! I was charged $44. 70 nevertheless! Friday, I took my truck in to have that hood latch...

    Shocks - Why Rancho 9000

Knowing nothing about shocks, I need some help. I see that the most popular seems to be the Rancho 9000. Why? Rancho 9000, seem to be what the 4-wheeler's like and they came in at about $20. 00 more per shock. Talking with a dealer, Bilstein single tube design was suggested. The dealer...

    Warming up the Cummins?...

Dixie, Don't forget in the colder weather, block the air flow through the radiator. I slide a piese of cardbard in front of the radiator with a 8-10 inch hole cut in the center of it. It helps keep the beast warm wihen it's cold out... but if you do any pulling, be sure to remove the...

    Trailer bouncing Truck

Roadranger, It's good news that you fixed the problem by changing out your shocks. I know nothig about shocks, but I've heard the Rancho name mentioned before. As far as loading the trailer, I believe that I pay close attention as to how my trailer is loaded. I only carry enough water to...
