I will check the chafed wire idea but I think it is more mysterious than either of these ideas, because of the way it occurs. It would seem like if the button was bad it would be completely intermittent, and would sometime "turn on" during a drive cycle, but it never does. Either it comes on...
I have not been able to figure out the intermittent working of my cruise control. It works 80-90% of the time. If it "turns on" with the button, it works perfectly for that trip, and usually for the rest of the day. But occasionally it fails to "turn on" with the button and it will never come...
This is an interesting discussion and confirms some considerations I have had with the 2017 5500 with Aisin I own as a work truck. I never liked how that beast shifted whether in TH or not. I especially don't like how it shifts if you shift it manually. So, I have gone over to the "dark side"...
So I did the road test today after the Stationary Desoot and the truck coded U059F at around 50 miles. I also see when using the OBDLink app, that I have "permanent codes" P24A2, P2459, U059F. I am unable to see these "permanent codes" with AlphaOBD. Am I missing how to use this software? I...
Yes the Desoot was active, the really hot exhaust and cooling fan cycling are an additional indication. It was about 45 degrees here when I ran it, so I did not do any additional cooling measures, other than run the heat in the cab with the windows open. Does the fact it lasted 65 minutes...
If any are interested; I re-tried the Stationary Desoot again and this is how it went. Using a Dell PC and connected via OBDLink MX+
I learned to initiate the test you have to scroll to the bottom of the information text in the center dialog box.
Started the test and the engine rpm went up to...
I think all the listed prerequisites have been met, and I have good connection using the OBDLink MX+ I have run some other tests to make sure of good connectivity. (Alternator Test and Idle Speed) These tests run ok.
I need help running the Stationary Desoot procedure on my 2015. I have had issues with the DPF regen. when on a trip, (code P24A2 "DPF Regen. Incomplete), and so I would like to run the Stationary Desoot via Alpha OBD but it will not run the test. The DPF was replaced already at a dealership...
I am using a pc/windows for the AlphaOBD. Yes the software does have a choice for "RAM 3500 (D2/DD/DR)" in which "DD"" would be the cab chassis.
I contacted Alpha support and the tech suggested;
Yes, try to continue the procedure, the engine ECU should finish it even if the app can’t read the...
OBDLink MX+
yes to brake and neutral. I think all conditions needed are met. I even looked at the current status on Alpha and it recognizes the parking brake and etc...
Hi AH64,
Sorry I thought my info would show when I posted. I just got the AlphaOBD recently and have connected with the OBDLink MX via bluetooth. It seems to work for the other tests I have done.
2015 Cab Chassis, G56
Thanks,
I just tried the Stationary Desoot but after the procedure started, (all pre-requisites ok), the lower Alpha display showed; "Requested procedure is not supported by the unit".
What does this mean??
Thanks,
