    It probably was . That third injection will get that cat hot and cook it off.

    I'm not sure how far back the archives go . Cerb was one who talked about it. You gotta be 20,30 + coming out of that TC. There is a check valve on the trans cooler that have been a problem at times and some guys drilled them out . Cerb would know about that too.

    Your fluid will start breaking down at that temp. I used to monitor mine as it came out of the TC . that's the hottest point. Reverse was the worst as the gearing was not low enough. I would hit your levels so yours is really cooking that fluid. We had many discussions on this 3rd gen forum...

    wow 470k that's awesome. Did you put better fuel filtration on? I wouldn't worry about the cat . No one sniffs a diesel yet.

    I had the BD in my 04.5 equiv to the PAC brake as they were only a block apart and probably poached each others employees. My trans was built all Goerend parts valvebody ect. .Didn't really notice it down shift by itself always had to do that manually.

    The spindle lift is the best way. I didn't do it but just used a spring spacer. Used alot of upper control arms as it was hard on the ball joint. You could use a wheel spacer to solve the backset problem. Hope this helps

    Heater grid bolt failure

    I had glow plugs in my 85 Ford diesel. Worst thing ever. Tore up the batteries , I know the grid heater does too. If they stay on too long they bend and you can't get them out. Got to the point I would just plug it in on a timer to turn on at 4 in the morning and it would fire right up.

    Testing injectors while in the truck, thoughts and questions

    Spend your time buying and installing new injectors, you've gotten your moneys worth out of those original ones. Put some better filtration on it 2micron.
