2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission stock or not

Yes the trans is all stock..I do think that the trans will get upgraded, almost a givin on any diesel with an auto. lol If I do decide to do some upgrades I was looking at the 3k governor spring kit, #6 or #8 plate. I also was curious about the stock turbo upgrade that Scott did in issue 74, I...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission stock or not

I happen to find a 97 2500 4x4 with only 90,731mi for a really good price. Truck is in really really good shape and all stock minus a snow plow and a gooseneck hitch..Came from a guy that used it very lightly, only plowed his small driveway and hauled a horse trailer for a couple of years...

Gave up on the 6.7 diesel now back to gasoline

well let me tell you why i bought a diesel and traded in my gas: i ordered a 02 chevy silverado: 1500,ext cab, 4wd with 4. 10 gears... why well i wanted a bigger truck then my last s10, 4. 10 gears because it would help with towing, 1500 because who needs a 3/4 or 1 ton. after 118000...

Gave up on the 6.7 diesel now back to gasoline

I agree 100% the EPA is to blame. . Ask any cummins engineer that if it was not for the EPA would they still have put the egr and dpt filter on? The answer: "absolutly not". I bought a cummins for much of the same reason that you did: reliability and longevity. Do i wish i would have bought a...

Gave up on the 6.7 diesel now back to gasoline

After reading all of this i have a couple of questions. first why did you not buy a Power wagon?? would have been great for you. . winch, low gear ratio plus the ability to tow a little extra weight(vs half ton). . second. . i do not understand why the members on here try to convince people that...

    diesel engine info

new to the site and would like some advise on finding good credible information on diesel engines, how they work and how to make them better. i like to read about tuners but don't like the idea of dumping fuel and letting the engine figure the rest out. this is the main reason i joined this...
