I just changed my water pump last weekend truck just turned 100k . I was quoted the $135 price by Cummins also. I picked up a Gates at NAPA for around $54 my mechanic (works on diesel only) stated he puts them (Gates) in when he replaces them and has never had one come back or heard of any...
Got it done. No diagram on my hood cowling for the belt I will print one out and put it in the glove box in case. The water pump was near failure. We checked the tensioner and it looked great. Not driving in an area that much salt is used. Might just go ahead and replace it anyway down the road.

I had a 98. 5 and adjusted the valves at 50k. They too were all
over the place. I did notice some improvement in mileage and seemed
to run a bit better. I will keep you advised.
AEdelheit's tool box looks like mine for the this weekend. My 05 just turned 100k and I noticed some weeping underneath while it was parked in my shop. New belt, hoses, stat etc. Next up da valves!
