I hope this is true
“According to a document made public on 3/21/23, NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation is expanding its safety probe to include the Tier 1 supplier Robert Bosch, which makes the CP4 high-pressure fuel injection pumps. The expanded probe also includes any automakers who...
Well did the install today! 9 hours of hell! I feel like I was in a UFC fight. This kit from Circletrack (EGR brakes) is wonderful and I believe worth its $340 price tag. There is no way I could have completed all the work in 1 day.
Here are some pictures :
JUNCTION BLOCK before removal. It...
Stainless Steel tubing and fittings. I wanted to get there Kevlar Braided Stainless Steel Flex Hoses also, but at $200 for a set vs $6 - $15 for the rubber lines each, rubber won out on this years budget :)
So just to give you the route I went. I ordered the Circletrack kit. Girlfriend (wife, been together 10 years) told me to go this route and she would put in half as my birthday gift. The kit showed up last weekend and looks to be very nice and hope to find out how it installs/fits in the next...
Only two things on the label got my attention. It has a code "BGJ Brakes - Pwr Disc". This matches the FSM code for Rear ABS. Only other thing I see is "Anti slip diff" listed. I am actually going to the dealer to pickup some oil filters for my daily driver (I only use Mopar filters on it) and...
Never noticed the sticker there, thanks for pointing is out! Stick does not seem to list ABS on it. Picking up some calipers and rotors tonight. so will see if they are correct. Going to have them pull up the brake lines while im at the store to see if they look like mine or not. Looks like the...
Looking in the factory parts catalog, I found the ABS module section and looks like the one I have is for BGJ (Rear ABS). Looks like 4 wheel ABS was an option for 1999 trucks also.
Time to order everything I can find now :)
So went under the truck for a couple mins to look around. I see a sensor of some type on top of the rear diff. Didnt go all the way under as the ground is soaked. I do not see any wires or anything going to the front hubs. Just a rubber hose for the brakes. Looking under the hood there is only a...
Thanks for the info, This gives me a place to look. I saw the module. will look at it a little more. I figured it might have had some sensors on the wheels/hubs, but didnt see any wires. Will look closer in the morning.
thanks all
This is my first truck and I'm use to dealing with cars repairs, So looking at replacing pretty much all my brakes, rubber brake lines, etc while I replace my hardlines that failed last week. How can I tell if I have 4 wheel ABS or 2 wheel ABS or none at all?
While doing some research, The...
Thank for all the info. Will see how things go here in the next couple weeks weather wise. Might try and get the old lines that are bad off this weekend. This should be a lot of fun!
Would copper/nickel lines better then Stainless Steel? I know SS is hard to bend as I've used it about 5 years ago for a 1974 T-bird. I have some extra tubes of SS in my garage and looks to be the same size. I could not find the roll of what I believe was copper/nickel that my brother used last...
I have the pressure bleeder, it’s very handy! I flushed out 2 cars this summer with it. I was a little surprised to find my brake line on one side of the truck like this. I am not sure yet what I will do, I have bent my own lines before, but its soo cold out already and already have 3 other...
Just looked at my lines again. They are in pretty bad shape. Gonna get them all replaced or find replacements it looks like. Only has 60k miles on her :( but them lines are rusting up bad..
