    Transmission is Toast!

Thank you all for the feed back. I feel more confident about getting it repaired. I talked to several shops here in Coos Bay, OR and they all recommend TransFix. After talking to the owner/operator and him describing to me what he does to these transmissions, and how many he has done, I feel...

    Transmission is Toast!

Never would have thought idle in park would be a problem.

    Transmission is Toast!

Joe Mc, I agree with you and am looking to get a "Bullet Proof" rebuild. I just want to make sure no one has experienced or heard of any reason other than "the transmission" that could have caused the failure. It has been mentioned that bad wiring can cause the transmission to fail. I just want to...

    Transmission is Toast!

My truck is not my daily driver. I start it and let it idle up to temperature about every 2 weeks. A couple of weeks ago I noticed an bad smell when truck was idling. I went to take truck on a trip Saturday and after a few miles I had to back into a driveway and had no reverse. I went to...

Need to replace water pump - Question

I have 160,000 miles on engine. Water pump is leaking. I've replaced nothing on the engine except the antifreeze. What other parts would you recommend I replace since the pump will be coming out? Tensioner pulley, hoses, belt, etc. Thanks in advance for the advice, Rob

    Help - Speedometer Cable Noise

Finally found what the noise is. It was warm enough to be driving with my window down last night and right at 50 mph the noise started but I could hear it outside. I started running my hand around the sideview mirror and when I blocked right where it connects to the cab the noise went away. I'll...

Does oil pan have clear coat on it?

I search the forums and found nothing on this. This AM I sprayed a degreaser on my oil pan and transmission bell housing to find where I have a leak. When I hosed off the oil pan, it looked like paint was pealing off but when I picked a piece up it was clear. Looked like thick serran wrap. Was...

Motorcycle Trip On The Pacific Coast Highway In May

Harvey, I live in Crescent City, CA and commute to Coos Bay, OR weekly. The best weather is Spring and Fall so May is good time. Seems to be drier with no fog. But we have a saying around here, if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes. We have had 80s in December, so always hard to call the...

    heated seat button

My 2006 has the same problem on the passenger seat. I figure it is failing some kind of circuit test the truck is performing. I restart my truck and it works fine. Funny it is happening on the seat that is not used that much.

The picture of the axel was blurry so I didn't post it, but you are right the axle bent. I told him that I thought he might have exceeded the max wieght of his axles by a little bit.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Tree vs Truck

    My friends second Gen fought with a redwood tree during a wind storm and lost. The picture brought a tear to my eye. :{

    Tap into Rear Cargo Light

I installed the AMP steps on my 2006 and my Dad's 2012 and there is a different wire for each door on the vehicle. Checkout Amp's website and see if they have a wiring diagram for their product on a 2009 Ram, that will give you directions as to the easiest place to find the wires are and their...
