OK, sorry. I thought that I had my info up for all to see. It will be. My Ram is a 2013. It just turned over 56k miles. I have the f4 door short bed version with the ram boxes which are great BTW. Auto transmission, etc. One thing I read the other day was that my driving style may have...
Over a month ago, a lot of you had helped me with my CEL post about a NOX sensor going (gone) south and how it is handled at the dealer. Mine handled it fine to the tune of about a grand. It was nice to drive my truck for about two weeks without anything lit up on the dash. Kind of how it is...
ok I'm back. This has turned into some post! lol. I want opinions re: my rear axle seal that the dealer just did. Left rear, said they saw it was leaking when under truck for nox sensor. They replaced seal under an extended warranty I had minus 100 bucks that I had to pony up. Thats fine...
UPDATE......... ok, I got my truck back from dealer and all seems ok. They put a new downstream nox on it. Said def system is working fine. While they had it, they put a new axle seal on left side, said it was leaking. (I don't know). Couldn't say why I was getting a service active air box...
Lester Glenn is start of post. Pine Belt has not been a problem to date. They have many dealerships here in Ocean co. Chevy was their first. I realize it costs a lot of $$ these days to run these businesses but the costs are crazy in some cases. I could do without the fancy service areas...
Wayne, the big dealer here in Toms River is Lester Glenn. I can't do business with them anymore. A new Ram dealer is Pine Belt in Lakewood. That is where my truck is. Keep fingers crossed. I am going to do the service myself on rear diff. And I am going to find out if he misquoted price...
Thanks again for your imput. Re: nox sensor, I am at their mercy whether it is up or downstream, didn't see report but I want it fixed and my damn truck back.
And yes, I am going to do my own rear diff service. From what I can see and readm, it looks like Valvoline full syn 75w-90 will...
Follow up.... Yup, I went to the dealer. Truck is still there. Its been 3 days but serv. rep. got back to me with some answers. Nox sensor is bad. ( I kind of knew that from code.) It is the downstream one and they want 1020. labor and material. Also, they said that it is not covered...
BTW, I want to thank all of you above for not flaming me like you see on some other forums, not necessarily truck forums. I am not a mechanic. That being said, I do all of my fluid changes and enjoy a little hands on stuff with this Ram. I remember thinking to myself when others would ask...
All good advice and one good question. The def tank is just under 1/2. The def usage has been minimal. Can't remember the last time I saw the regen message.
I guess owning one of these diesel trucks is a love/hate affair at some point. This is my first diesel but my fifth Dodge in a row. I have a 2013 SLT with about 54k on the clock. In the past , I have had a couple of CEL and nothing major. The truck has been to dealer for water pump, few...
I did a search and didn't see anything about this. I would like to put one of the 60" light bars on back under tailgate. When I inspected the area, it looks like the spare tire ratchet hole is in the way. Has anyone installed one on these and is there room above the area where rod goes into...
Thanks to all for help and especially gsbrockman, Your link led to a perfect replacement on Amazon for 26.00. Electric defog, non tow, non dimming, etc. It arrived with instructions and that is why I am posting again. They say to push on mirror bottom all the way in, and then push a flat...
Yes, it has to be an electrical issue. The ignition will not let go of the key, it is not debris in the slot as noted in another post. I can't be the only one who is having this issue though.
