Yes, you are correct assuming it has standard intercooled pistons in it, but some early VE engines have odd sized piston bowls and the only way to find out what piston he has with out pulling the head is with the CPL number, it's a relatively easy thing just to double check.
Also the spray pattern is extremely important, I don't currently have Cummins Quick serve but if you take the CPL number from your idea tag to someone who has it they can tell you what injector angle you need. The issue is most companies selling 12 valve injectors just sell them for 2nd Gen...
I see I'm a bit late to the party on this one. The issue sounds like a burn issue, if your timing is correct it could be a injector spray pattern issue, or a injection pressure issue.I see you put a new lift pump on the engine but can you verify the injection pump inlet pressure? If your inlet...
I've finally gotten enough progress again to make another update. I was trying to get my new seats picked up how I wanted them, but the raised ridge in the floor just behind the factory seat mount holes kept causing issues. So the answer turned out to be, cut the floor out of the truck and...
I found that ORB fittings fit perfectly, I know they make adapters just for that purpose but they seem to only fit certain GM muscle cars. I forget the sizes off the top of my head but all of them are metric threads
With the new box where I wanted it and looking at the different vents available from that company. I decided that I liked the original factory defrost vents more then the after market ones. So I cut the lower part of the duct where it attached to the box up and reshaped it to fit the new box...
In the process of fixing my floor the center of my dash got destroyed and while I didn't dislike the factory dash I always thought there was room for improvement and I'm unwilling to spend solid gold levels of money for a replacement I decided that building a new custom dash was the way to go...
Finally more forward progress with the first test fire of the engine, it's a bit smokey cause it still needs fine tuning and it's burning the assembly oil out of the cylinders but it's another step in the right direction
These guys are on the money, fuel should be fine. I've had had no issues running a single group 31 battery at 1000 cca in PA at temps down to 20, I have had issues at sub zero temps but your not liking to see those where you are. Putting 2 batteries on the factory tray can be done but if you run...
So I figured it out and boy is it stupid, this truck relatively new to us and the previous owner had installed a transmission temp gauge in a pile pod. But to light said gauge he taped the wires for the left front marker lights and ran it the whole way back into the cab though the fire wall. And...
