Working drivability issues on 2011 2500 w/manual trans

Jhenderson, You may be right. I did a lot of fooling around to try to find the right adjustment for the clutch but it seemed I always ended up with a little drag when clutched in. Sounds like you know something about this trany…I had a question buried in my update that maybe you know about...

Working drivability issues on 2011 2500 w/manual trans

The datalogger uses your vehicle weight (I input my book value + my weight + est fuel weight + my stowed items), a calibration function to determine your actual final drive gear ratio depending on the gear you pick for run and a drag function which measures how fast your vehicle decelerates in...

Working drivability issues on 2011 2500 w/manual trans

AH64ID, I baselined the truck then only changed the intake and realized a 2% increase in hp after averaging 5 runs on the Dyno function of my datalogger. I also recorded an 0.4 psi increase in boost pressure during the same test. Regarding the trans fluid...I'm tracking the Benz...

Working drivability issues on 2011 2500 w/manual trans

RVTRKN, I've posted the BOM to the above Google photo link. The pump is a little loud if you run by itself but when the engine is running it is completly lost in idle noise. If I have a need to take this system apart again I may add a couple of hydraulic ball valves to the intake side and make...

Working drivability issues on 2011 2500 w/manual trans

OK it’s been a while since I updated but it’s been a very busy year but I managed to make some progress on the truck upgrades. This is a bit long but I wanted to share my experiences with the community in case it helps someone else…I’ve learned a lot… Rewinding a bit after I baselined (Datalog...

Working drivability issues on 2011 2500 w/manual trans

Update I had my Dealer apply the 18-012-12, 11/21/2012 flash; I then baselined again. No measureable change in any of the parameters I'm tracking. It may have a tendency to surge a little bit more; normally the truck surges once a week and now ~it's twice a week. I then installed Banks...

    Chrysler Extended Warranty

Often you need to check the extended warranty box w/in a month of purchase... . I opted for Ext Warranty on my '11 Ram; I decided to do this in large part to all of the gagets on newer vehicle not so much for the driveline. BTW I also opted for Ext Warranty on my 2008 Mazda CX-9... . they just...

Working drivability issues on 2011 2500 w/manual trans

EMAC2, Thanks for your links, I found the Chrysler ScanStar most interesting. I'm not in the market again for a datalogger; the ScanXL is working well. Regarding your comments on my two issues..... maybe check out my link in first post to this thread; pg 7 has some pretty good info from H&S on...

Working drivability issues on 2011 2500 w/manual trans

This thread is a follow up to my previous thread on drivability issues with a 2011 2500 Ram Diesel with manual transmission..... summary: After driving my new Ram for a few months I noticed two undesirable behaviors: 1) Persistent fueling; after quickly removing throttle (ie shifting) the...

Poor drivability; 2011 Manual with 3.42 Gears

The Christmas break has afforded me some time to reengage my truck's drivability issues…. Summarizing my situation to date: I purchased my 2011 manual trans diesel truck in spring of 2011, after driving for a few months I noticed a few undesirable behaviors, to pin point what exactly was going...

    Regeneration

My '11 has aprox 15k miles and it has not regenerated to date. I recently had it at the dealer and specifically had them verify with diagnositc; they reported its count is at 4000, they noted count needs to be at 25000 or higher to cause a regen.

Poor drivability; 2011 Manual with 3.42 Gears

Update... ... No progress made in solving my driveability problems with Chrysler Mid Model Year Manager at Cummins or my local Dodge Dealer; I've given up on both of these avenues. Now starting research into aftermarket controllers. Thanks, David

Poor drivability; 2011 Manual with 3.42 Gears

MChrist, Just saw your YouTube post; good find... ... thanks! My 0-60 times are better. Driver started in 2nd (so do I w/o load), he had to shift into 5th to get to 60mph due to his lower gears; I'm at ~2700 RPM at 60 in 4th... . so less shifting = faster time Note the persistent...
