That would be such a sweet engine if they can just figure out how to make it pass emissions with out EGR.

My 2018 F150 that has lived in salt its entire life respectfully disagrees. The rocker panels on this truck are immaculate. My last F150 and the Dodge I had previous to that had the rockers bubbling at 3 years and were flaking off in chunks at 6 years.

Also, the nut on the EGR cold pipe clamp next to the oil filter is loose, not very promising :D

A few years ago, 2021 I think, Cummins signed an agreement with Daimler to supply medium duty engines post 2027 once the Detroit DD8 ends production. The oil filter, EGR setup, and intake manifold look very similar in design to the current DD8 engine, I wonder if some of that project has crossed...
