I had a 95 with a manual trans. It was simple to work on. No computer to deal with on the drivetrain. I have since had a 2000, 2003, Ford PS 2005, 2005, and now a 2007. 5(6. 7). Getting a new truck is great for the first month then it is just another truck. I would say the 95 was the best truck...
6.7L manuals
FYI I have a third edition owner's manual. I also got a 4th edition warranty information manual as well. Iam not sure when the truck was built but I bought it on June 1. It was assembled in St Louis.
Can one just drop by a dealer and ask for a reflash? Do you have to complain about something in a TSB to get it done? I am dealin with a big 5 star dealer. I am thinking they are not going t reflash for the heck of it.
6.7l
I only have about 1000 miles on mine so far. I just traded up from an 05 with a 325hp. Mileage seems about the same. Much better response and a lot quieter. I am certain that the cummins motor is going to be a good one. Truck is about the same. The new 6spd may be a crap shoot. It sure...
black oil
I just chalked it up to old oil in the system. Oil cooler etc. . I thought maybe cummins changed something inside. Maybe a check valve that keep all the oil from draining??? Just a guess.
Turbo Noise
THere were a few months in 05 when they used an intercooler that had plastic tanks on the end. You can easily identify them as they have a molded plastic grid instead of the smooth tanks like the alum versions. They had to replace a lot of them under warranty and went back to the...
Clr Lights
It will be quite a job. The holes are 3/4" or so. You will have to weld in plates. So you will be removing the headliner. Better be good at sanding to match the contour of the cab. Then paint the whole roof at least.
I would lean towards some trick lights. Like clear or smoke...
I just got my 07 SLT and it has the black door moldings. I want to remove them. Are there any alignment holes under there? If so I may go with chrome ones. Also does any one know what the deal is with the different bumpers? I like the one with the chrome lower insert. My chrome goes all the way...
Probably some sort of caustic. If you knew what it was you probably would not want it on your truck. LOL At a place I used to work at we had a ZEP product that came as a red powder. It had a four digit name. I forgot what it was. It was awesome. Took off bugs, fuel stains, dirt, greaze, even the...
Chrome??
You could have it sand blasted. Just about any where that paints heavy equipment will have one. We have one at work that runs off a trailer mounted compressor. It will eat away at anything in front of it.
Exhaust
I put the turbo back 5" MBRP system on my 05. The drone was too loud for cruising. I then added a resonator which did nothing. I finally added a Donalson semi muffler which did the trick. Sounds great outside and pretty quiet inside with windows up. Has a really deep sound. I can e-mail...
