When I was removing my engine the end link on the chain I was using snapped just as the transmission was clearing the front crossmember of the frame. The front of the engine swung down about 3 1/2 feet and slammed into the driveway exploding the harmonic balancer/drive pulley denting the oil pan...

Thank you for the reply's. I was on leave and looking for a quick fix. I ended up just soldering new wires on to the sensor. I gapped it with a quarter. Worked fine. In my search for why my alternator wasn't working, I discovered that I am going to need brushes soon. Thanks again.
I just threw my fan belt and took out the wires to my speed sensor. Does anybody know how to fool the computer into thinking that the motor is turning at all times? Would this cause any other problems?
What I ment by holding a gear longer is that when getting on the freeway the engine revs way up- no tach going, by sound- then it shifts into OD. The truck then softly lurches fwd. As for the 2-3 shift when driving around town it will hold 2nd gear unless you fiddle with the accelerator pedal...
