    180 deg thermostat for 2003

I cant tell you the part number, but I can tell you trying to run your engine cooler would be foolish. I will explain why so nobody else reading this gets the idea that a cooler thermostat is a good idea. First point is diesels run about 40% thermal efficiency. That means approx. 40% heat is...

    Ring Break in Procedure...

I work in a case tractor dealership. After I rebuild, resleeve or install a reman engine, the tractor gets an oil pressure check with a gauge off the oil galley and goes straight onto the dyno. By the time it is hooked up to the dyno that is the first 5 minutes of warming up. Next I run it about...

    Larger TireThan OEM?

I only know this because I just got tires today. I got Lt235/80r17 Michelin LTX M/S2, 70,000 mile warr, 6 of them mounted with high sales tax, total about $1500. As far as Bf Goodrich, Michelin, Goodyear are concerned they don't make any bigger than 80% in a 235 width on 17" rims. So if you want...

Coolant flush on a 3rd Gen.

Additives benefit more than just cavitation. Additives benefit the entire coolant system. Corrosion, hoses, water pump, and mostly scale build up. 1/16 inch of scale in your coolant passages will insulate equivalent of 4 inch's of cast iron. Im not making up the scale number that was from...

Coolant flush on a 3rd Gen.

At those temps why would you want to lower your coolant temp? 212 is the perfect temp for pretty much every diesel that exists. It runs better, helps keeps deposits in your engine down, and helps prevent scale build up in your coolant passages. Also on an interesting side note about...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Dead pedal

If they are the clamp onto the wire type battery terminals i would put good ones on also. Some very nice terminals that are quick, easy and quality are Fusion battery terminals. The solder is already inside of them, you just heat up with a torch, you hold the terminal so the melting solder...

    water pump

As the list of upgrades in the signature of of most every user can attest to, factory doesnt always mean quality. Im sure some bean counter in chrysler said "hey we can save $100K if we buy coolant from these guys. " Probably isnt the coolant, but the exact same water pumps on industrial...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) throttle questions

My father is doing a swap with a 24v 2002 into a 50's ford something. I am not completely familer with 2nd gens. Since i dont know what its offically called, ill call it the "throttle box" above the vp44. What i assume is that it turns a mechanical signal from cab throttle pedal into an electric...

    water pump

Also i forgot to mention my Shucks/O'reily auto parts water pump has a lifetime warrenty as long as i own the vehicle. Granteed that isnt going to help me if it fails 100 miles from nowhere, and isnt going to cover the hassle, but i least i wont be out my $55.

    water pump

I dont have any more experience with these pump in dodge trucks other than the single time i did mine 1000 miles ago. But from what others seem to say on these forums about any brand water pump is they are pretty much all crap. I work at a Case tractor dealership and for a long time case used...
