    Drag link weld question (sorry!)

Getting new tires today. Have the welded drag link. Is it best to take to dealer for alignment and see if it will be replaced? Can someone provide the part number on the new drag link and the Thuren spec? Also, have not had the 67A done yet, seems like a nothing burger now after all the...

I found this relay - $25 at PJ Power Inc. They have a continuous and intermittent duty option but only 150A current load with an 800A inrush. I was thinking the heater grid draws over 200A. I think I will call them tomorrow and discuss. More to come.

What brand are you using BigPapa? I believe I have isolated the issue to the relay and have either Wells or Rostra, unless I go to the dealership. Are there other manufacturers that should be considered? Thanks, Scott.

Per Adam at BMP - this relocation kit will not cause a check engine light provided it is installed properly with good continuity.

Ha! This “looks” just like what’s on my truck. Don’t know if it functions with the PCM/ECM on the truck correctly.

I did switch it over to the onscreen voltmeter and did watch it cycle from 14v to 12v. Good to know the aftermarket heaters are less powerful. Generally I won’t be in deep freeze temps and when I am I’ll usually plug it in. Up hunting there are no plug ins though…

I realize it’s “sales”, but the item I linked to states it retains emissions. Big Papa, any chance the bus relay (that looks suspiciously like a solenoid) works on the RAM??? I think I’ll call BM to see what they say about the code Y or N, question. TT - I might go ahead and be the Guinea...

    Grid heater

I think I may have created some confusion. I am not deleting the heater, only upgrading/relocating from the potentially problematic grid heater (and bolt) to a probe heater, therefore retaining a heating condition within the overall system. I am assuming, maybe wrongfully, that if I migrate...

Yep, I get that. This is what I’m thinking I’ll install and retain the stock intake horn and its emissions equipment. I presently live in Colorado and am subject to emissions inspection/testing...

So then - If I only put the pre-throttle body heater in from BM, do I abandon all the other “junk” in place….

So, if I put the horn on the heating element ends up back downstream of the EGR correct? There is just something wrong with having a soot filled intake, isn’t there?

I recently renewed my subscription, so I don’t think I have access to any electronic version, magazine back issues and so can’t see your review or the article. I appreciate you summing up the review. I recall you (or someone) stating earlier in this thread you (they) may not remove the plate. I...

Thanks much Cerb. $250 is an appreciable savings for sure and the truck, stock, does everything I need it to.

Thank you, Mr. Donnelly, I went and looked at that. I’m wondering now, after adding the intake plate, air horn, and heater, if the Banks kit comes at a good price point. I have it priced at $968 for my rig, with raw coloring. I am wondering as well, is there benefit in the air horn upgrade if...

    Grid heater

Jray, I’m jumping on this thread. I have a P2609 code and am considering the update for the heater and manifold plate as part of the resolution to the code. Just wanted to know if you had gotten and installed the manifold plate yet? Also, has the heater probe continued to meet your...
