    You're right that is what it says. BUT...... it will not hurt anything if you do use a fluid with the additive and as some have found out threw experience, that it does have a benefit. Not to be belligerent , but good for you, your tuck didn't make any noise on your trip.

    while the AAM axel doesn't require a LS additive, it will/can benefit from it. Yes, it doesn't have a clutch pack like the limited slip axel does but it does have a shoe/snubber..... that rides up against the gear (dont know its proper name.) that is covered in friction material.
