I can't get a good pic, I tried. It's leaking about a drop per 1-2 seconds at idle a few inches directly above the starter.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Joe George thinks it's the fuel heater. It seems he may be right since the truck does not like to start if it's really cold outside, parked uphill, or if it sits for 2 days.
Ideas?
Hi, I am having a few issues with my truck. 96 12v, auto. I just replaced the serp belt , water pump and thermostat. My issue is I don't know that much about the fuel system.
1. the truck will die if left in (automatic) drive when coming to a stop/ idle really rough and rpm drop.
2. Lack of...
Great info guys!
Great info guys! Thank you for posting. It doesn"t sound like it is too hard to get 500 hp out of the Cummins. It looks like I better go with twins due to occasional heavy tows (horse trailer) and also because of the heat out here in the desert. It's going to have to be a slow...
There aren't too many areas of the truck I DON'T have to work on/improve. LOL. Every part I work on I am trying to 'fix' so I won't have to do it again. The VP44 and lift pump were bad when I bought it so I put on a Thoroughbred Diesel VP44 that gives about 15% more power than stock (timing is...
I am having to do alot of repairs and updates to my truck as a result of neglect by the previous owner. It is a 1999 3500 Dually 2WD with 4. 11 rear gears and an automatic (47RE). Rather than doing things twice, I was wondering if I could get your opinions on a good safe recipe to make 500 HP...
I tried the link in #579 but I get an error message saying IE can't find the site. Can someone please email me the instructions? Thank you!

We have the same scenario on turbine powered helicopters. The brains are frequently mounted on the engine subject to heat and vibration when it could easily be relocated to the airframe and kept cool and dry. Problem is the engine maker has to sell a complete package that can be used in several...
No codes, despite a myriad of problems thru the truck. I don't have guages (yet!) but I will have them soon. Fuel pressure is at 18 psi. Just put a new VP44 on about 2 months ago and an Airdog II 150 gph at the same time. Pumps were bad when I got the truck so I had to change them right away...
Please let me know what you find out. Mine has this problem too. Totally gutless til it hits 2000 then starts to make good power. It just 'comes on' at 2000 and really wakes up! Very strange, but this truck has ALOT of strange problems. Thank you and good luck.

What about the fabric cover itself? Is there a good "reasonably priced" cover available? I'd like to change my driver's seat bottom cover/foam myself if possible. What I mean is a direct matching fabric cover to replace the original not a new "slip-on" cover that just hides the original under...
Hi George,
Thank you for this info! I am fighting bad transmission problems (all shifting issues) and it is sounding more and more like alternator "noise". Is there any kind of noise filter kits/mods available for the alternator? This seems to be a real problem for the trucks equipped with an...
