When I pull the driveshaft yolk out of the transmission, how much if any fluid is going to come pouring out? Do I need to drain first or is it going to be a little bit and just top off after the change? Thanks for your help.
So I parked my truck the other day for about 3 days while driving my other car. I noticed it was leaking transmission fluid on the ground. Parking it on the clean floor in my warehouse, I noticed it was creating a little "puddle" (a couple inches around). I noticed that the bottom of the...
Damn, someone has a good eye. That one is the old one. I now run a DTT Billet Shaft. I put it there to take to my shop, that was about 4 months ago. I never took it out, and now it kinda has become a conversation piece for anyone that rides in the truck. Stock = bad, Billet = good!
I will keep a look out for your truck. I pass over that bridge everyday from Ellenton. The matting that is on the truck was actually somewhat there, sorry for the misleading. The guy I bought the truck from got it off eBay, but it was applied over 1. 5 years ago, so it obviously is holding...
Just a quick tip, buy "dynamat" from eBay and not Dynamat from Circuit City or a sound shop. The stuff on eBay is just as good, but about 1/3 of the price. It just doesnt have the word Dynomat plastered on the silver lining.
Here are some pics of my Ram under construction. Its undergoing a complete interior "remodel. " I am adding the following items to the interior:
-Sony CD Player Head Unit
-Infinity Kappa Component Speakers (8 total)
-MTX Thunder Amp
-Bearcat Scanner
-Cobra CB
-2-way Remote Start Alarm...
New EGT Temps
Okay. On the way home from the shop today I watched the EGTs almost all the way home. The normal EGT reached with moderate acceleration from a red light is about 1000-1200F. If cruising at 60 mph it reads about 750 or so, and if I give it mild acceleration, it will reach 1100-1200...
That is defiantely a fact. I can flood a 4-lane intersection in the snap of a finger. Lots and lots of smoke is a definant on my truck. I love it. I have never checked to see if it has no fuel plate, but I have a stock one sitting here that was given to me with the truck, and he said, no it...
The timing was set when I bought it, but he said it was set to 18. 5*. That could attribute to it. Should I pull off the cover to check if it really maybe does have a plate, if it does, I would be astonished, as it is already a quick truck.
Not sure. It may just be a combination of the springs, valves, thicker head gasket, etc... If not, then I do not know. I am happy with the EGTs on my truck. I can make them see 1250 or so with no problem if I get into it, but in normal driving it will rarely see more than 900F in stop go...
I rarely see over 1200. I saw 1425 once, it was on a run to 130mph, but it was only for a second. Once it hit that, I let off. At a normal no load cruise at 80mph on the interstate it cruises at about 750F. I dont think i should run into any issues. I might get a fuel plate to install for towing.
I am assuming that towing 3000# through Florida and southern Georgia will not be an issue, right? I am towing a 6x12 enclosed trailer with a 4 wheel and equipment to Georgia, not even up north to the mountains. Think my truck will suffice with this trailer weight?
