Not sure if this is to meas there are several conversations going on but, I use Rutters Diesel. Its more of a local chain in PA. I have always seen Rutters tankers putting fuel in.
with my luck my issue is most likely from this fuel, but in my location this was the only stop with 15 min...
I find it very troublesome that Dodge/Cummins would allow this to happen to these trucks. If Dodge/Cummins new that the filtration was undersized or incorrect why not send something to the owners. I for one would have footed the bill to put something in to save my truck. Now im fased with either...
WOW thanks all for your responses !
To answer some of your questions...
I get my fuel from one place since I bought the truck used with 50K. ITs the same place that other rigs get fuel. THey have new tanks. less than 2 years old.
I ran Fuel additives in the truck every other fill up...
So what is involved on fixing this. I am concerned that this rust got into my cylinders? Should I worry about that?
Shop told me that they thought I got water in my fuel. Lines are pretty much rusted on the inside. I was told I needed to drop the tank and flush out, clean lines, replace the...
I am looking to buy another truck that is a extended cab. I have always stuck with Chevy gas trucks and Dodge cummind diesels. But am having a hard time finding a Chevy that is under 170K miles and under $5000. I have seen many Dodge 1500 gas trucks and found one that is a 96 SLT w 140,000...
I dont have a stock exhaust anymore. The place were I bought the truck put a aftermarket system on it. NEver liked the sound to much more like a jet than a diesel. No cat either. Dont think there was one either
Going to replace my airfilter for the first time since I bought the truck used. I am buying the filter from Genos. Item below. My question is the garage that I bought the truck from told me to remove the foam pre filter from the filter. Is this right ??? He said it would prevent flow from coming...
So MBRP is a decent diesel muffler... I have replaced the trubro back with what the shop said was a performance muffle but the truck sounds more like a jet than a diesel.
I would like to run the muffler delete but cant with local laws.
I would like to know what exhaust everyone is running. I would like to get the straight pipe sound but I need to run a muffler. Also would like to keep it out the side.
Thanks
Well I looked at the truck last night. It was not bad besides the rust holes above teh window. There was a section above the passenger front window that had the drip pan and about 4 inches up the roof rusted pretty much through. I think the paint was the onyl covering. The steering rag was...
thanks for the input. keep your head down. Army or Marines?
Is yours IC? hows the EGT
Heres a generic questions for all... stacks on a first gen, do you run a muffler? I need to run a muffler to pass inspection, but most kits are straight pipe.
Thanks
