Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Should Crankcase Vent Filter be serviced?

I used the "no bottle" method also but with a 3/4 inch radiator hose to the driver frame rail. PapaTom

Thank you for the complete run down on this system. PapaTom

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2001 5.9 rear seal at 150k miles?

Thank you. No, I didn't think of that. I will try to check it. PapaTom

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Should Crankcase Vent Filter be serviced?

Thank you for the accurate "over night service" on the vent question. I cleaned the vent and hose then extended it with two feet of 3/4 radiator hose to the driver side frame. One hole is big enough. PapaTom

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Should Crankcase Vent Filter be serviced?

I see the crankcase Vent Filter at Geno's and on the truck. Should it be serviced? How is it removed? PapaTom

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2001 5.9 rear seal at 150k miles?

It looks like I have a leak at the rear seal. This seemed strange to me for a Cummins. Is this common? I am traveling; what should it cost to have it replaced? Is there anything else I can do? Senile owner PapaTom

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fass ddrp

My DDRP is mounted where the dead one was on the engine. It also is about 18 idle and it can pull it down to 13 when pulling 12,000# up a grade. PapaTom 2001 with 47RE and Power Products set at level 1.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 47RE band adjustment?

Should the 47RE on my 2001 2500 have its bands adjusted? If so what does that do. I have 138,000 miles and as second owner I can't be sure the 47 is original. [I am pulling 12,ooo pounds and have a double pan. ] PapaTom

    Low Frequency Growl, Coasting :-(

Thank you BSeyler. I have not done the rear end and of course now I feel guilty. PapaTom

    Low Frequency Growl, Coasting :-(

Thank you John L. That is good advice and I will follow it. The best approach is first less expensive things for me. The truck has 130,000 miles and the back axle is near gross as the Yellowstone is nose heavy. PapaTom

    Low Frequency Growl, Coasting :-(

My 2001 2500 generally pulls my 12,000# 30' 5er, but not for this event. Tires, tran temp, and fluid OK. Condition of universals and limited slip unknown. 1. Coasting in 4th, overdrive in 47RE, there is a low frequency growl 2. Acceleration the growl stops 3. Shifting to N, coasting...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) FASS pump question/issue?

I have FSS DDRP02 on for about 2,000 miles towing. Does 20 pounds at idle and starts fine. Hope you find you problem. PapaTom
