I have a set of twins on my 97' and i am having problems with the head .
I do have o-ring and studs but that is not enough. Now I need to do fire rings.
so all I am tell you, is right the first time. Do fire rings and then you can put as much boost as you can handle.
97' 2500,twins,370...
fire rings sit on the block and o-ring is used with the stock head gsk.
fire rings will hold 70psi or more and o-rings will hold up to 70psi, but I have o-rings right now and running about 65 maybe 70 lbs of boost and still have head gsk problems.
yes it does it all the time . at first just when it was cold and on start up only .
now it just keeps gettig worse. now it makes a whistling noise sometimes.
when rpm picks up. noise comes from heater, like rushing water.
and then air with it . replaced thermostat and getting ready to replace
a flowrestricter elbow.
I also have antifreeze spraying from overflow tube and heater does not
get very hot.
