Everything else works just the fuel gauge stopped working. Would there be a special ground for that? I'll check the power down by the solenoid for the dual tanks. Thank You for the help.
I have a 1992 D250 Cummins and the other day the fuel gauge quit reading. At first I thought maybe it was the sending unit but this truck has 2 tanks and the aux. tank does not read either. I looked underneath where the valve is for the 2 tanks and everything looks to be good there. Has anybody...
I have a 1992 D250 club cab and I am replacing the valve on the fire wall that lets the coolant into the heater core. There are 3 vacuum lines coming out of the fire wall but the squirrels had chewed them up. I would like to know if anyone has a picture of their truck that I could reference to...
I had the same problem. First I took out the fuseable links and went with a regular fuse and holder (60A). I found that the wires going down the firewall to the top on the transmission had the insulation broken from age or the local rats chewed it off and it shorted against the trans. There are...
Well my 1992 D250 Cummins is in the shop for a transmission but they can not locate a governor for the transmission. Anybody have any ideas where I could find one? I've been on the internet trying to find something but it seems like nobody has one. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. :-laf
Thanks again Simplysmn, that was exactly where the problem is. I found 1 wire that was bare about 2 inches. As soon as I pulled it loose and got it clear of the transmission it started and ran fine. Thanks again for all you guys helping out with this problem. Were on the road again. :)
Well with your help, which I appreciate, I thought I had the problem ironed out. Well today I went to start it and nothing. If the ignition switch is off the fuses are fine. Turn the ignition switch on and it pops the one fuse. I think somewhere between the ign. switch and the fuel and starter...
Well I changed out the fuse links with fuse holders and fuse and it didn't help. When I bought the truck it had been sitting and the rats or squirrels had chewed wires etc. I didn't notice that the wiring to the A/C was chewed up and bare wires were in a position to touch the frame, so on my way...
Thank You Simplysmn, I'll check that. Do you know what the rating is on a fusable link like that is? I'm thinking about replacing it with a slow blow fuse.
I've got a 1992 Club cab and in the middle of a U-turn it just died. Interior lights work, emergency flashers work but it dead as far as trying to get it to crank. Seems like no power to the relays that work the fuel shutoff solenoid. Has anybody had this problem? Any ideas? Thanks guys
There is a click but it's not when trying to start. I turn the key on and all the buzzers and lights come on and it sounds like the intake heater is heating even though it is 70 degrees here today but when I turn to the start mode nothing happens. No click or anything. Are there other fuses then...
Hello from sunny Southern California. Well my 1992 D250 Cummins won't start. When you turn the key on the buzzers and lights all come on but when I go to the start position nothing happens. I put in a new neutral safety switch on the trans but that did not help. Any ideas on this situation would...
