Same here. I went.with the potentiometer from radioshack and mounted the rig above the 4wd shifter in the cab. What a Difference.
The only issue is not having a proper environmental plug to match the tsp pigtail. Tinning wires and pins then heatshrinking is working but, a proper connector would...

GREETINGS All,
I Tried the TPS mod posted in the recent TDR issue 83 (pg 92-93) offerd by Mr Dalgleish.
I had normal voltage readings (.862) as per factory manual with no jumps indicating my TPS was in good shape ;-)
I Round filed the holes as per the MOD but was unable to get to 1.8 v @...
update. new transmission mount installation seems to hae taken much of the shimmy out. solid through 2000 RPM now. $29. 99 at Autozone with lifetime warranty. East remove/install. I suspect the joints and center bearing are coming due.....
thanks all

Transmission in park I ran er up to 2000 rpm and set for 20 sec or so. no shimmy at all so,..... back to mb u-joints and/or center bearing???
Took it to a local transmission guy in town for an opinion. he drove it, agreed on the shimmy at 2000rpm and ruled out damper, torque converter , and even...
Nick, solid troubleshooting tip there, should have thought of that... . exactly why this forum is so awesome. . getting tech tips others in the field. Will give it a "spin" and report back. thanks!

Rick,
We had a similar tapping sound with temp during a recent 1800 mile road trip. I know you said you checked the fuel lines but just for a secondary QA mb put a wrench on em again. I got a 1/4 turn on one line and it solved the issue, I never thought that little twist of the wrench did...
Thanks for the reply. Yes my dampener is original but I have a mere 122k on this truck... . or is that a false sense of security? Never thought of it but I guess yea it would transfer a frequency right through wouldn't it?
