Greetings, my friend. My son has a '96 or '97, I can't remember which extended cab BR3500 5-speed. He said that if he ever gets the engine below 1500 rpm that no matter how light a load or how flat of ground he is on, he has to downshift to get it to run. His truck had a fairly fresh rebuilt engine when he bought it a year or two ago so it's anyone's guess what parts are in it. All the "natives" around Marsing, Idaho where he lives are afraid of his truck. (It embarrasses them) My thoughts on the "downshift below 1500 rpm" thing is that the timing is advanced too far. What are your thoughts on this? Brad Nelson
