The ride is definitely better. It's pretty much exactly like people say but it's hard to describe. People say "it still rides like a truck". This is exactly accurate. The big thing I noticed is that I can feel the axles moving under the truck. It isn't that much smoother but it is...
Yeah, I did. Finally got everything installed and working correctly just before thanksgiving weekend (canadian). The short version of the story is that they are awesome, their customer service is top notch and I'm very happy with the springs. Long version of the story is that there were some...
Ha, well I guess we'll see! If the P/N's I ordered don't fit I'll have to sort something out. Wouldn't hurt to post your numbers here as a reference for other people but I'm pretty sure the shocks I ordered will fit.
OK, so I've decided to go with Custom/Carrier Suspension springs (https://customsuspension.com/). They are local-ish for me in British Columbia and they beat the crap out of Alcan for prices. Looks like it's going to cost me $1575 Kanucki Kopecs vs. $2k from Alcan. I'm going with 2" lift springs...
I'm thinking about ordering from Custom Suspension. They are up here in Kanada and it looks like it would save me a lot of money. The Alcan springs would be $2000 CAD before taxes and it looks like I can get the Custom Suspension ones for $1500.... but I haven't got a quote yet. Their prices are...
Hey Guys,
I've got the standard issue of bagged out springs and cement truck ride on my '93 W250. I'm ready to pull the trigger on some Alcan Springs and Bilstein shocks. I've been doing lots of reading and I'm exasperated by the conflicting information or lack there of. I'm thinking new...
Hey There. I'm in BC and I'm thinking about buying some Alcan springs (front & rear) and some Bilstein shocks. Was wondering if you're still happy with your purchase and did that setup improve the ride of your truck, despite having 1ton rear springs? I'll probably go with 3/4ton rear springs...
Cool, thanks. I'll take a look.
Yep, it's so I can lock the truck and leave it running to warm up or so I can lock the truck and let the turbo timer cool it down. Then if anyone breaks in and tries to put it in D or R the engine will die.
Yeah, I'm gonna put in a hidden switch too.
Yep, I...
Awesome, thanks so much, that is EXACTLY what I wanted to hear :) And yes, it is the auto transmission.
I have the FSM but I couldn't find anything on the function of the switch. I think all I had to go on was sheet 10 of the wiring diagrams and it just has a lame switch diagram that, in no way...
Anyone intimately familial with how the Park/Neutral switch on the transmission functions?
I am going to wire up a turbo timer/warmup circuit with my EGT gauge but I want it wired so that if anyone smashes a window and jumps in the engine will quit as soon as they put it in drive.
Just...
Ha, the fram is from the previous owner. It had a fresh oil change right before I got the truck so I haven't touched it. the fram will be GONE next oil change. I'll probably go with a Mobil 1 filter. That's what I use on my bike and they are supposed to be the best, next to Purilator Pure
Unfortunately I probably won't be doing anything with the bumpers for resale. The market is pretty saturated and for it to be worth the time I would probably mark it up to close to the cost of a buck stop. I thought people might be interested in the gauge cluster because there isn't anything...
