I was a 2nd Generation CTD member for many years. I have (for the next few weeks, anyway) a 1998 Ram 2500 SLT Laramie Quad Cab CTD with 276,000 miles on the clock. I bought this Ram in October 2001 - almost 17 years ago (I like to get my money's worth out of a truck). Three weeks ago I bought 2015 Ram 2500 SLT Mega Cab 4we with 66,000 on the clock because I just couldn't justify the $60k+ price tag for a new one (2018 or 2019). We also have a 2001 CrossRoads 32' travel trailer that, at actual 37' and 10k ready to use, was already beyond the factory 16k lbs GCRW for my '98 Ram. It struggled going through almost any kind of mountains and I refuse to intentionally break my truck. So we bought this 2015 that has a GCWR of close to 23k lbs. We should now be able to go almost anywhere we want as long as the roadway is wide enough, somewhat smooth enough, and, at almost 60' from trailer spare tire to truck front bumper, a large enough place at the end to turn around.
