Exactly right! How else does the pooter know that the door is open. Bypass the switch in the kick panel and it fixes it simply and permanently with the added benefits the poster Cissco describes. Good one Cissco!
What kind of difference does the block heater make in warm-up and the availability of heat. Is there a noticeable difference. Mine starts great, no matter the temp but it might take 10 to 15 minutes to get any heat. We also pay 21 cents/kilowatt hour here in NW CT. Thanks

I had the same problem with mine, until I replaced the original Michelins with ATX LT2's.
What a fantastic improvement. Best tire I have ever driven on and I'm 64 years old so I have purchased lots and lots of tires. Great in the snow, too and quiet. And, no, I don't sell tires.
