    1971 Ford camper special repower

Final done and back on the road Well I have finally finished the truck and have been driving it on and off for about 4 weeks. The paint turned out pretty good for it being my first time painting a vehicle and being black. I had to shake out alot of little things but overall not major went...

    Project Ranger Has begun!

Speedo cable idea Rebel, I went to the junk yard and found a dodge cable that would hook up in place of the speed sensor. Then I plan on cutting the Ford outer cable and the Dodge outer cable, then slip a piece of tubing over both and clamp. I got the idea from some forum , I can't...

    1971 Ford camper special repower

Vaughn Yeah I'm using the Ford radiator, I'm hoping it will do the job. I guess I will find out what works and what doesn't after I get it back on the road. I anticipate having some issues. Don't worry about the oil filter it'll be in the trash when the time to driving it gets closer...

    1971 Ford camper special repower

Rebel, For the oil pickup I cut it then lengthened it by 5" if I remember right. The stock location is near the front of the sump so it needs to be moved back. I had the welder at work tig weld it and added an extra tab on it for support. I used the dodge motor mounts modified them to work...

Wait to start and water in fuel lights

I'm trying to wire up the wait to start light and the water in fuel lights on my conversion and wanted to know if the message center provided the 12V power to these lights and the air heater controller was the switch to ground? Thanks, Wayne

Ray I do belive you are right about the wire being the resistor because last night I was trying to find where the resistor was and the whole wire seemed kind of warm.

JHerr It wasn't to bad to get it in there. There is a good 4" between the pulleys and the radiator. I'll have to get some better measurements and post them with some better pictures. I will be running and electric fan setup. Wayne

    1971 Ford camper special repower

First start Well I finally got the truck started last Friday. Everything went pretty well no leaks. The only problem I had was that I was not getting 12V to the fuel shut off solenoid. I used the ignition wire that was going to the distributor before. After looking at the ford wiring diagram...

Are those the prices to replace the EGR componets or to just clean?

    Lots of blue-white smoke

Could be a bad turbo seal. Have you checked the compressor out pipe for oil?

Grizzly Sorry to hear that, I guess I have a pretty good one then. It was my grandfather's truck and he bought it new and didn't have any major problems while he owned it. This was my first vehical and it really didn't give me to many problems, still ran good at 135,000 miles on the original...

JHerr Sounds like a good project, be interesting to see what fuel economy you can achieve. Did you know that in Brazil they put 4b's in new f250s. http://www.holset.com. cn/pics-related/3-media/3-1-magazines/HTiIssue7final.pdf
