  • Nate,
It has been awhile since I have been on. We finally started getting our place in Riverton ready to live on, the fence is almost done and they are building the barn that we will live in when the 5th wheel can be delivered from Michigan.
I have over 123K on my truck now since I drive it all over the country for work I just got it back after getting the injector lines replaced and had a set of DDP 90 HP nozzles installed and it runs great and no smoke. Have to wait to see how it tows which will be when I tow my Land Cruiser back to Wyoming. I towed a Hummer trailer out in June it was like pulling a 5th wheel because of the canvas top and the wind. I really worked the truck. My transmission so far is still running strong and have heard of a lot of failures after 100K.
    Hello Wyo,
I used to live in county 6 in Wyo, know where that is... by the way, I need some help:

Can you help me with a quick response to a question? I need to get a part ordered through my local dodge. It's the passenger side door panel controls. How do I get access to a parts list? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Do you have an exhaust brake? When I pulled the HiLo my Dad gave my Wife and I back to WY it took it through CO over I70 and when I came out of the tunnel at the Eisenhower I thoght 5th gear would hold it back since 6th pulled it up very well. Wrong that 6K trailer pushed me to the next rest stop.

I wont pull another trailer like that again on steep passes with out one again.
I know Gordon Gunter he was teaching when I was in High School and was at WWC when I was there working on my AAS.

My 5th wheel is parked at my Dads place on Evens accross from the Mini Mart or what ever it is called.

TJ went to school in GR also and his Dad was Berto and worked for the city for years. I think I know Bill Hodges he is most likely Mark Hodges' nephew. I wrecked my Land Cruiser on the blue rim road by there ranch.

I have been very happy with my G56 it is the best transmission I have ever had.

    My email is William.Stephens@ge.com
I teach in Green River. I took over for Gordon Gunter who was here for about a billion years. He is actually doing all the machine work on my block and head and is teaching me alot about engines, and we are learning diesels as we go. I think I have heard of TJ Castillion. Darren Heslip is the head coach at GRHS. I was asst. at at LMS this winter with Bill Hodges. I really enjoy the school and the support here. The community seems to be behind me even though I am no Gunter!
I have been reading a little about a NV5600 to G56 swap on one of these forums. If this sucker goes bad again, maybe I'll go that route????
    Nate,
Do you teach in Green River or Rock Springs? I am from Green River and my Dad is still there. I went to High School in Green River and then got my AAS Degree in Industrial Maintenance at WWC which provided the foundation for me to be come Field Engineer for GE and work around the world on there Gas and Steam Turbines. You may know my Nephew that is the Head Wrestling Coach from Cheyenne TJ Castillon. I have been over Togatie (sp) but it has been years, I use to go over the passes from the Unita's down through Colorado and into northern New Mexico several times in the spring to work on turbines in Durango, Farmington and Grants.

I shift my G56 with out the clutch most of the time as well as the ZF5 in the Ford I had and this G56 seems to be just fine and I have been using Amsoil for quite some time since I had the F250. I also just had the coolers installed and increased the oil capacity no problems were found.
I might suggest Amsoil. I am in the middle of rebuilding mine (which had nothing to do with fluid) and I'm going to try Amsoil. It is $10/qt. cheaper than Mopar and I have heard good things. I'm pretty sure that the fluid in mine was still OEM when I changed it this summer because of 4 to 3 grinding. At that time I changed it to Pennzoil because it was the cheapest, and still that is only about $1 or so less than the Amsoil. My grinding didn't stop and then my motor puked so I tore into that at along with the motor.
Anyway, I recently just became an Amsoil dealer so I can get you good pricing if you're interested. (The dealer fee paid for itself on the first order.) I could also get you set up as a dealer or get you a preffered customer membership if you are interested.
    Let me know
    Nate
