  • AH64ID, You posted this on the Cummins forum back in 2012. Original poster was asking about dropping rail pressure when towing. "That is how the stock RP map works, so no the BOP won't do anything if your meeting the commanded rail pressure. You can see here the dip it has as load increases at those rpms." Any chance you can send me what the image you posted? Also what does BOP stand for? Thanks Lebo.
Word has it you do tunes for hp tuners. I have an 04.5 and live at high altitude in Colorado. I have a lot of aftermarket parts including a bigger turbo. Is this something you can do?
    Hi John
I saw your write up on the severe duty filtration system. Your picture of the placement of the yellow wire saved me a lot of digging thanks. When I plug both the WIF sensors in I get the light and tone on startup.
Is there any way to get rid of the code other than the dealer? Thanks
    Hi John,
I was looking at your link on the fuel filter system, then checked out GDP MK-2 kit w/ big line. Looking on the web for higher flow banjo fittings, I saw Vulcan's site and their fuel filter system VP-Max. Which due you prefer, and should I go to the 1/2" line vs. the 3/8" line. Future engine mods will be limited to Smarty Jr./CAI/Donaldson muffler. I will also be installing the heated F/W seperator filter on the frame rail. Thanks John. John
    Thank you for that info!
I am looking for some info that you may know where to find...
My 04.5 3500 single wheel 4x4 6spd, needs front wheel bearings. I'm sure that there is some info, i just cant find it for the life of me. Thanks!
Hi............I've read and reread your numerous posts on the various forums about the near endless fuel filters for the Dodge Cummins, including the AirDog and FASS variants. I'm writing because, if I'm interpreting the data correctly, in the case of the AirDog and the FASS, they're furnishing them with filters that are GPH rated far below what the pumps are GPH rated. Correct??? I have a 2000 VP44 equipped truck, in need of a new lift pump, and I wish to make a prudent wise choice, including best filtration option. In addition, nowhere can I find the GPH rating of the Baldwin PF7977 fuel filter. In the information column, I'm about 400 flywheel HP, and have a bucking issue I can't find. VP44'd twice, new APPS and on and on, no issue correction.

    Thank you,
    Cal Roberts
I have admired and followed your build on this site, cummins forum, comp d, etc.. and value your opinion. Are you eventually going to try out efi live on your truck?
I really appreciate your work on filter information in the posts you've made. I just wiped out all of my injectors about 2 weeks after changing to Napa changeover filters. I have a GDP 392 pump (19-23psi) and a GDP dual filter manifold and have eliminated the factory filter. I did notice on one of your posts that you stated a fuel heater could be threaded in between the manifold and a filter. Do you have any more information on that and is it necessary? Also, since I have to rebuy filters, can you confirm I've read the posts correctly, The best Water Seperator would be the Baldwin BF1212, and the fuel filter should be a Donaldson P551313. Thanks again, Cheers, Marc
I noticed you have a colt cam in your profile, which grind do you have and how impressive was the the cost to benefit when it came to your power increase/EGT control. I am looking at this for mainly towing but street power as well.

    Thanks!

    Collin
    Hi John ?iirc
Can't seem to figure how to post a new thread from my blackberry..only can add to existing thread.

    That being said.......
My sons newer truck..04.5 auto(130k)has played a couple of tricks lately.
Started about 2weeks ago when accelerator pedal seemed to get really stiff a couple of times?has been fine since , but on two occasions now trans has stayed in high gear when coming to a stop. TC ok but loaded truck/trailer barely move. Shut off/restart/shift gear selector random order and will go back to 1st and work flawlessly for another couple of weeks.
Any ideas? Thinking may be related to apps? No codes show up on smjr.
    Thanks for your input.
    Steve
I was thinking about your 6k price tag on fuel system and put the fuel filter back on.Thanks for your help and hope to hear from you again.
