  • Hi Vaughn, I ordered a VP44 tonight. Milked this one as far as I think I can. Do you have a gear puller for the pump? What kind have you used, and like. If its alright I will give you a call one night this week.

    Vaughn,
I have a 98 Q-cab with rattling dr. side doors.
In doing a search here on TDR about this problem, someone said he thought you did a thread on this. I looked at all your threads (15 pages), but no luck.
Do you have any info. you can offer about this problem?
    TIA, Ray
Greetings, my friend. My son has a '96 or '97, I can't remember which extended cab BR3500 5-speed. He said that if he ever gets the engine below 1500 rpm that no matter how light a load or how flat of ground he is on, he has to downshift to get it to run. His truck had a fairly fresh rebuilt engine when he bought it a year or two ago so it's anyone's guess what parts are in it. All the "natives" around Marsing, Idaho where he lives are afraid of his truck. (It embarrasses them) My thoughts on the "downshift below 1500 rpm" thing is that the timing is advanced too far. What are your thoughts on this? Brad Nelson
