  • Thanks Deo, I did not want to sidetrack the topic too much. So far we haven't found the right truck.

Terry, sorry I've not been on here much. I've been very busy with our new life out west here. I've been spending more time on Moparts trying to make some mods to the pulling truck. I'm going to try and go to Stockport Iowa, pulls on Labor Day weekend, I think its on a Saturday. Try and come down, its just south of Fairfield about 10 miles. I made some mods to my puller and had a couple successful hooks a couple weeks ago. Thanks for the thoughts, we are planning on our new addition to show up in about 4-5 weeks or so. The experts say that it is another little girl. I'll have to try and get another tom-boy growing up, to keep the boys at bay.

To remove the gas engine is easy, the guages to work isn't too bad....the tach signal can be changed ..the speedo signal from vehicle speed sensor in the rear axle etc.. the other guages they can be adapted to work . The cruise is cable controlled. I moved it to the drivers side and re wired it.. i have to figure out how to connect it to the pump lever. Ford work shop manuals will be your friends...they have a separate electrical wiring book for each year that is very nice . I'd look on ebay for the year of the excursion you are buying etc..they are different year to year so you may want to hold off till you find your truck..I paid $50 for the wiring book and $140 for the two volume workshop manual..both used on Ebay.. new is a lot more.. good luck.. in the future post up on my thread so others can see the responses...and I didn't see your note to me ..if it was a thread reply I would have gotten a email notification etc..
    Thanks
    Deo
