2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wiring for driving lights

I have some driving lights that I want to wire into the high-beam switch. The lights came with a relay. I understand my 99 2500 high-low beam switch controls the negative side of the light circuit. If I attach the relay input hot lead through a fuse to the battery (the one that ordinarily would...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel Pressure-No Sending Unit

Whaddya know... it worked. Thanks very much. Another example of overcomplicating the problem, which I'm famous for

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel Pressure-No Sending Unit

I have an Isspro mechanical guage, no isolator, but a marine on-off valve on the fule filter so the guage can be shut off if it leaks, etc. Hasn't yet. The problem is that the dang guage buzzes, apparently from fluctations in the pressure. I put in about 10 feet of fuel hose to hopefully...

    A/C condensor

Hardy har har Actually the thing can't sink because it never leaves my driveway

    A/C condensor

    I have learned the hard way that if you put a screen in front of your radiator/condensor to eliminate bug buildup, be good and sure that there isn't any chafing on your condensor input or output lines. $600 and a new condensor later, I'm a little bit wiser. :{

    Are Michelins That Good???

One of my factory LTX's blew up on the highway after 24,000 miles (I think a sidewall was cut by driving on a gravel road). Only half the tread was left, so I replaced 'em with Les Schwab TXR's. Michelins are now off the list (so are Goodyear Wranglers, but that's another story)

    Front Tow Hooks

My Draw-Tite front receiver was about $150 and took half an hour to install. No drilling required; you only have to temporarily unfasten the torsion bar mounts so that the receiver can fit between them and the frame. I had to take off the air dam and raise the license plate, but I think it looks...

    A pillar mount problem

I installed my 3-guage pod pretty much the same way as Emmdiesel (although I did put in two screws, not just one). The other thing about not using the stock pillar is that if you trade in the truck you can re-install it... obviously that's impossible if it's all cut up.

    Eeeeek! Pine sap on paint!

I had some gooey sap on the tailgate/rear fender after cutting firewood, and Gunk worked where WD40, lighter fluid, and Goof Off didn't.

    boost gauge problem

I took Emddiesel's advice, and tapped the intake horn. I didn't remove it; I only disconnected the rubber hose to the intercooler, stuffed some newspaper into the intake to intercept metal chips, tapped in a hole on the elbow about an inch above the detent where the rubber connection hose ends...

    boost gauge problem

I just installed an Isspro 2-50 mechanical boost gauge, plumbed with a piece of 1/4" rubber hose to the manifold test port. When the engine is under load, pulling about 16-17 psi, the gauge makes this sort of buzzing noise and the needle flutters a little. Is this a bad gauge, or does the...

    Anyone got a good story?

Couple years ago I towed my CJ5 up to Canada, behind my old 95 1/2 ton 2WD Dodge V-6 (yikes). The family place is on a lake, and I was the first one in. Thinking I'd do some cleaning up, I drove the Jeep into the lake to pull driftwood out of the boat launch with the winch (I had to pull them...

For fun. Why/how did you choose your handle?

My family's got a fishing cabin near Likely, B. C. , in the Cariboo-Chilcotin region. That's where most of the scratches on my truck came from. :)

    how to haul??

I have a 16 footer, which I hardly know is back there (I have to keep it in mind when passing, etc. ). The dual wheels track real well. On the brakes, set them as tight as you can without locking the wheels. I always turn mine up to full when driving on the freeway with a load. Also, make...

    Winch & front springs

I'm thinking of building a mount for a Warn 8274 to fit into my fromt receiver hitch, and have heard that the extra weight may cause bouncing of the front end, misaligned headlights, etc. I'd guess the setup will weigh 100 or so pounds. Has anybody experienced problems like that? I don't...

    Fuel Pressure Guage

Isspro mechanical, run post-filter The top reading is a little high (50), but I wanted it to match the EGT & boost, so it'll do. Works good (although I haven't yet bled the air out of the supply line, which causes me to lose prime sometimes)

    Fuel pressure gauge plumbing

I know I'm supposed to use braided stainless line for my mechanical fuel pressure gauge, but I'm wondering if plain old rubber fuel line is acceptable. It would be run through a new grommet in it's own hole in the firewall to prevent chafing. If the consensus is that I'd be wise to use...

    gauges

I got a set from Isspro (pyrometer, fule pressure, turbo boost). They were kind of spendy, but are nice gauges. I mounted them in an Autometer A-pillar, which also was kind of spendy, but oh well
