    Silencer Rings Real Purpose!?!

The silencer was developed and put in the turbo at Chrysler's request to calm down turbo noise. They said customer's had complained about the turbo whistle when comparing it to gas engines. Take 'em out and let em whistle or not----makes no difference in performance or air quality. Kenny...

    Competition what top turbo

Centeno 1, The 3LM is very, very old technology. I would not suggest that for your twin set. I have been hearing great results from a 4027888 HX40 and 3804502 HT60 setup. Thanks, Kenny Taylor Holset Turbochargers

    Competition Holset Super40 and Pro52

The Super40 has the same size shaft as a regular HX40. Shaft size WAS not the problem you guys WERE having. You overspeed ANY turbo and it will go "poof" especially if you don't have a good hi-speed balance on it. The Super40 was developed so you guys in the field would not have to mess with it...

    Competition Holset Super40 and Pro52

The 4038822 Pro52 adapter is angled to keep the turbo tucked in the engine bay. It also has a boss cast on both sides so you can drill and tap them for wastegates, gauges etc. This adapter also has excellent transitional flow from flange to flange.

    Competition Holset Super40 and Pro52

You can over fuel / over speed ANY turbo. It's all in the setup and it has to match. I'm curious, how did he measure 190K rotor speed ?

    Competition Holset Super40 and Pro52

OK, Forrest you need to contact a Holset Aftermarket Distiributor, not Cummins. Go to www.holset.com and there is a search engine to find the one closet to you. 4wheels smoking, yes you will need a 90 degree adapter to go from the comp outlet. Oil fittings are the same. Cooker, the exhaust...

These turbos are available from your Holset Distributors. They are in limited supply as the entire diesel industry is struggling to demand for product. I suggest get your orders in because it will be first come, first served.

The inducer bore on the comp housing is 72mm. The inducer on the comp wheel is 71mm.

    Competition Holset Super40 and Pro52

At the bearing journal it's 12. 2 mm. This turbo is designed for aggressive use. I had Piers test one and he said it was the best spooling big turbo he'd seen.

    Competition Holset Super40 and Pro52

Do that. I can't get the map to attach because it's in a format that's not compatible.

    Competition Holset Super40 and Pro52

You will see a small drop in EGTs with the Super40 due to the width of the comp map. The Super40 really shines on the upper end of the scale with a high of 4. 5 pressure ratio.

    Competition Holset Super40 and Pro52

Pushing 500HP might be stretch for the Super40. As always, it depends on the rest fo your set-up. For an street driven automatic I'd look a twins with a Super40 and a 3804502 HT60 Holset. The HT60 evolved form the old HT3s and is a lot more effficient. They do cost a little more but they are...
