    780 Miles + 11,000LBS + 70MPH = 13.2MPG

Nice lifetime stats!!!! I can only dream of 17 MPG... . I feel lucky when I get high 11's or low 12's EMPTY! :{ I have considered the kitty cut myself, but I promised myself I would keep this truck stock for some time to compair to my others Diesels. This is the first Diesel I have kept...

    780 Miles + 11,000LBS + 70MPH = 13.2MPG

Crunch, I've got a 2005 QC Short box, auto, 3:73's, no mods, all stock. I have gleened from here it seems the 03's get better MPG than the 04 and 05's. But I keep reading this 17 MPG empty, and unreal stuff like 20 + hauling on the highway and there is NO WAY that can be right based on my...

Load Range E Tires in bigger sizes?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, I can't seem to search anything on this. The search is smater than me! I am looking for a 33 to 35 inch tall tire in a Load Range E. I have owned the Nitto Mud Grapplers in a 10 Ply Load Range E in the past, but can't stand the...

    780 Miles + 11,000LBS + 70MPH = 13.2MPG

I forgot to mention I was hauling in Southren Kansas, flat lands, not much wind. The Flint Hills were the only elevation change at all and I'm betting there wasn't 20 feet change in a 1/4 mile.

    780 Miles + 11,000LBS + 70MPH = 13.2MPG

I just got back from a 500 mile +/- pull of an enclosed 22 foot race trailer with a Ford Crow Victoria in it. I only got 9 MPG rolling at 1900 RPM's, which was about 72 to 73 MPH. I figure the trailer is about 2500 lbs and the Ford was about 4100 lbs, so it was a pretty light load IMO, very poor...

    A little help?

Need a driver from Alex. Virginia to KC MO Hey all, I am looking for a lowboy trailer to rent or use to pick up a "box van" I bought in Virginia. The truck is about 10'-6" tall and 22' long and 8' wide. It is like a small U-Haul van. The car moving companies all tell me it's too big for...

    Step bars

I've got the exact same things. I love them. I was afraid to get them thinking they might be flimsy, kind of like the first dropping single step, but not these. Just awesome! (edit) The Amp product on mine are the full cab length for all four cab doors. I won't have another truck...

Show Down! Who's got the best mpg AND power?

My average hand calc is only about 12 mpg city, empty. Highway has only been about 14 mpg, empty. I've only got 8,700 miles plus or minus on it. No mods other than a leveling kit and tires that say 35" and actually only 33" tall. I expected a lot better milage after reading all the 18 mpg up...

    Block Heater Question

Thanks. That is what I'm seeing, just wanted to hear it from someone else. The needle is pegged on the cold pin and it takes 8 to 10 min of driving before it even budges off the pin. Quite a bit longer to get anywhere near, but not in, in the operating range. However I do not get any...

    Block Heater Question

If you plug in the block heater and say it's between -5 degrees and +5 degrees out side all night, you leave the block heater on all night long... . What should you expect the water temp gauge to read upon starting. And maybe even within first 5 min. 's of starting. Thanks in advance...

    I thought my new bigger.....

D, No sweat, I don't think you're a smart azz. I'm sure you're just on of those dudes who always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. I know plenty of your kind. But as you grow older just remember Two plus Two isn't always four. :-{} I'll report back to ya at 40K miles and let ya know...

    I thought my new bigger.....

Well, All I can go on is what is on the tire side wall in raised letters, 2450 load rating at 35psi. We'll see what happens with a car trailer and a car in it once I get enough miles to pull, only up to 200 miles since I picked it up. Unloaded the tire don't even seem to hold any temp. at all...

    I thought my new bigger.....

McCRam, You are right, it is on the side wall of the tire. 2,450 lbs and max press 35psi. 5,000 - 6,000 lbs isn't much, hell a 1/2 ton gasser v8 towed my Viper to Dallas and back with 33's that were C rated, 3,000 lb car and a 2,500 lb enclosed trailer, and I drove 80 mph to 90 mph most...

    I thought my new bigger.....

I'll call cust service of Dunlop in the a. m. Squirm is my biggest concern at the moment. Trailer and car together are about 5,000 to 6,000 lbs max. Not much tounge (neck) weight in the bed. Even though I was a Ford PSD owner I also have towed with a Ford F-150 Supercrew with true...

    I thought my new bigger.....

Sorry if these are dumb questions Luke. I'm a total newbie to the Dodge CTD world. Trying to learn and figure out things that I have no idea about. I thought that was one of the bennifits of this website.

    I thought my new bigger.....

XJ, They are the Rover RV, not the mud. They are C rated. Tire shop said they are plenty for my towing needs, 36 foot gooseneck with a racecar, or a Viper in it. I haven't ever towed anything heavier that that. Does that sound right?
