I just upgraded from a 99 5-speed quad cab with a straight pipe to an 06 mega cab automatic. I never realized how nice it was to be quiet. Wow, these trucks have come a long way. I was just wondering what the best uprgade would to provide the best combo of power and economy that won't affect...- CampbellB

Just traded my 99 Quad cad, 4x4, 5 speed for an 06 Mega, 4x4, auto. Man I love it. Anyways, the 99 got 18 mpg empty and about 15 mpg towing. The Mega got 17 mpg on the highway driving about 200 miles @ 60 mph on the way home from the dealer. It's dropped off to about 15 mpg around town...- CampbellB

Are you sure IH scraped the V6 project?? The 4. 5 litre V6 Powerstroke is just like the V8 with two cylinders chopped off. It turns out 200 horse and 440 pound-feet of torque. It's available right now at commercial Ford Dealers in the low cab forward cargo haulers. Don't get me wrong, I'm...
