Just moved up from 1999 to 2001 (50K miles) Ram 2500, 2wd, auto w/3:54. I always heard the 99 pump when starting up but not the 01. Fuel guage is off by 1/4 tank and ran out of fuel recently. When bleeding injectors I had to crank engine to displace air. I can hear a relay click when turning on...
Had this happen to me only the speedometer went out shortly thereafter. Turned out to be the speed sensor on the rear end. You will find more info on this on the other forums. Do it your self and save plenty. Dealer will work ya over. I think the sensor costs about $35.
