    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) turned off key

Check your codes in the odometer window and see if any show up. Let us know if there is any. How many miles do you have? Any mods done to the engine? etc

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injector pump R&R

You can use the 2 shorter bolts of the 4 that hold the intake horn onto the engine

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) CMP or CKP

I agree with ALepley. I would def start spraying wd-40 or some other penetrant on the ckp. I've heard other horror stories about them breaking off. I did mine in a Target parking lot on a 25* day laying on cold wet asphalt and she came out right away without penetrant or the block being warm...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) New VP44 installed=Amazing

Nice. Thanks AlaskanCummins for the response. I really hope that Bosch only sells the upgraded computer to the re-builders. If not I would say that's B. S. We deserve a upgraded computer just as much as FedEx or UPS for that matter.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) New VP44 installed=Amazing

That would be nice if someone came up with an easy way to cool down the pumps on these trucks like you said Chip was working on. If I remember right I thought there were a couple of guys that added some kind of cooling fan that draws in outside air to cool down the pump. I would love to have...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) New VP44 installed=Amazing

Wow. Sorry to hear they didnt work out for you. I wonder if 2 years ago they didnt replace all the computers and just tested them to eliminate the bad ones. I know for a fact that now they replace all the computers. I saw a massive bin full of old computers that they removed and also saw all the...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) New VP44 installed=Amazing

Hi guys. Love the site. Learned alot from everyone and hoping to share some of my own knowledge and experiences. So my tach started bouncing around last week for about 3 days and I figured it was the ckp sensor. I was heading home to pull it in the shop and check it out. I was just driving along...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) U-joint recomendations

I just did all 3 joints on the front driveshaft. I bought mine from Advance auto and they are greaseable. If I remember right I bought the el cheapos for about 13. 00 each and the more expensive ones didnt come with grease fittings. Go figure. Also when you install them with the grease fittings...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) CMP or CKP

Hey Dan. I also have a 2000 and about a week ago I had problems with the tach bouncing around or not working at all for about 3 days. On day 3 the engine started missing until it quit running all together. I figured it was the ckp because from what I read the cmp is used for diagnoses only and...
