    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel Pump Mounting Bracket

It sure looks like a small block Chev fuel pump block-off plate would work just as well instead of that bulky stock unit. Has anyone tried this?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Got the bombing bug!

Got the oil leak issue worked out... ... simple fix... see other post regarding fuel pump mounting plate..... again... Rip did a great job! No hassles, easy to work with, VERY reasonably priced... I could go on and on about RIP..... As far as the truck... . we haven't had many dry days here...

Thanks CSCOTT!!! That's what I needed to know!

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fuel Pump Mounting Bracket

I just had the stock fuel pump on my 2001. 5 4x4 replaced with a PE unit (consistent 20psi!). The new pump is mounted close to the tank. The old pump and mounting bracket has been removed, but there's a gasket remaining. The truck is now seeping a bit of oil, and I'm trying to determine where...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Got the bombing bug!

Stopped by Rip's shop on the way home this evening. The "beast" should be done tomorrow. Everything looks great so far! Won't be able to hear it run until tomorrow though. Kind of a funny ... . the new South Bend clutch warns of slipping when new, needs to be "seated" and says to drive...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Got the bombing bug!

After seeing all of the posts here about the capabilities of this Cummins Diesel, I took the plunge! With the help of Rip Rook (www.sourceautomotive. biz) here in the Northwest, my '01 2500 4x4 6spd is getting a major bomb job... SouthBend Con FE clutch, DDII injectors, Edge Comp box, Piers...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Blow off valve

I'm a bit confused about what's being referred to as "sudden lift". If a tractor/trailer is pulling its load up a hill, doesn't the driver shift at max rpm, therefore max boost ?(although I believe you are correct, much lower rpm/boost than we're talking about). And if so, doesn't the driver...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Blow off valve

Blow-off Valve What are the "big trucks" doing to control barking? Do any of them use a blow-off valve? Or are they not producing enough boost to have a problem?

    Competition Turbo Huffing

Sorry... . I'm new. After further discussion, I'm talking about "barking", not huffing. I've also heard it referred to as "surging". I'm going to take this discussion over to the 24-valve drive-train forum.....

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Turbo Huffing

OK... I understand the physics on why turbo-bark happens... but... "Want to avoid backspin? Don't do sudden lifts at high boost pressures. " So. . if I'm drag racing, how do you avoid sudden lifts at high boost pressures? Remember, I'm driving a manual transmission truck. Are you saying I...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Turbo Huffing

I'm interested in bombing my '01 6spd, and since I live in the Portland, OR area, I talked to Rip Rook. I'm looking at an Edge Comp, DDIIs, 4" exhaust, HX40 turbo, AFE intake, guages, pump, clutch, etc... . Rip was kind enough to take me for a ride in his similarly equipped truck, although...
