    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Engine quits/restarts for split second

Thanks for the info about the steering column wiring, I haven't checked it yet but sounds like there may be a chance of duplicating the problem by moving the tilt wheel up and down. Can someone tell be what the cam sensor is and what it does?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Engine quits/restarts for split second

About 5,000 miles ago (truck has 42k/mi total) my engine began to have an intermittant problem of quitting/restarting at generally any speed. The whole cycle takes about 1 or 2 tenths of a second. No codes have been generated and I've performed a wiggle test on all of the connectors that I...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Burning used oil???

I was involved in a government research project about 6-8 yrs ago where we burned recycled vegtable oils and soybean esters, in various mixtures up to 100%, in Cummins ISB's and an L10. Ran great and didn't cause any abnormal carbon build-up. Running used motor oil is a different story, the...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck "jerks" on highway

I checked the codes about two weeks ago and there weren't any. Did that just prior to going to the dealer for a VP44 replacement. As bad as the engine was misfiring I thought that it might have caused the "jerk". Guess I'll schedule it back in to have the transmission serviced and see if they can find...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck "jerks" on highway

The jerk always has occured at 70+ mph when in OD, loaded or not, and fully warmed up. I've checked the fluid level, it's OK but I haven't changed the fluid or filter yet. Oh yeah, the odometer is at about 37,000. No engine/transmission mods yet. Can't seem to get my signature to display so I'll...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck "jerks" on highway

My automatic equipped truck seems to be intermittently jumping into nuetral and back to drive or downshifting down then back up when on the highway. It cycles through it so fast that it about jerks my head off. I thought I caught the engine RPMs going up the last time it did it which is leading...
