Old thread...the 90's turn signal stalk is only a lever for the high/low beam switch, which is at the base of the column attached to a rod from the turn signal stalk.

While I've never heard of 3.07s behind a 5spd from factory, I have seen Dana 61F and Dana 71 housings geared to 3.55 from factory. But the norm was 3spd 727 auto with 3.07s and 5spd with 3.55s (4.10s as a factory option).

The technicians had other training, the FSM was a guide.

Check your vacuum at the booster...low vacuum will pop the brake light. The ABS may just be the system at fault...unplugging the module behind the glove box temporarily will rule that out.

My thoughts, having done this several years ago, is forgo the tab and simply stake the pin into the hole with a chisel. The fitment of the pin to its bore is tolerance (it is not sloppy loose), any deformity at the bore entrance would prevent that pin from ever coming out. No tab to buy or...

The ABS is causing both lights to illuminate. It is caused by either the Rear Wheel Antilock (RWAL) deal on the rear frame, the RWAL sensor in the rear axle, or wiring in between.

So essentially it was hung up...

Could be the TV cable is hung up?

If nothing else, a Lokar cable for a 727 can be made to work. That seems to be the goto when the original part fails.
