How old is the DEF? My truck sits for extended periods also, but I try to run the DEF all the way out before putting more so that it never ages out.

The only time mine cycles is if I use remote start,.. I skip it and it always starts just fine.

Sadly that is exactly my experience with these issues. When my truck was only 6 months old the MIL kept going on during a cross country trip with the family and the 5er. 3 times I stopped a dealers to get it check and they could not duplicate, reset the MI, updated SW, and said keep driving...

Glad to hear you got it fixed... I was dealing with intermittent loss of all ABS,CC,etc... I was surprised how a chaffed wire due to interference with a metallic part could cause soo many issues... Best of luck with RAM,.. I have heard stories of them taking care of things after the dealer does not.

I've had the opposite experience with both my maxcare warranties as they paid for themselves.. and especially with the electronics in the new RAMs its totally worth it. The 12" radio is more than the warranty, same with the active headlamps, one of those craps out and the warranty is worth it...

The few weeks of cold we get here I usually use the block heater and a timer.. Coincidently the grid heater for me operates more in the transient temps say 40-50F when I hit the remote start and its not pugged in.

I am inclined to check mine now,.. I use remote start frequently so may be worth looking at. I do not WTS but it is unavoidable with the remote system.

I tow 26k quite frequently with my AISIN.. No complaints what so ever, handles any grade / speed with ease. I for one have not ever had any of the shifting issues I've heard about, for me I prefer the 6spd over any of the 10spd(s) I've driven over the years.

Not saying this is your issue, but take a look at the harness and connections around the DEF system. I had an issue a few months ago where I was getting a code for lost communication and implausible data from the RR wheel sensor. Replaced the sensor, same issue, as it turned out the release...

Depends on how nasty the local govt wants to get right? Like residency, I would imagine if the vehicle spends most of its time in state they could require the license change, I toyed around with that idea when I had my home in VA but cost to transfer plus running around NC with out of state...
