    Prefered exhaust brake brand

I had a BD for a while, never had any issues with it other than the switch rattled and "buzzed" like crazy. Probably an old issue as that was 10 years ago.

What are you asking for just the rifle?

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 99 truck won't smog with banks big head waste gate activator??

Go to a different tech, it's cheaper than replacing parts. Apparently in CA there's still some disconnect in the conducting the visual inspection. In fairness to the shops, CA will swing it's mighty ax on any business with regard to emissions. So glad we got out.

    Wood Stove for Shop Heat

I had thought about the little one running into the stove, there are more on the way so that's something to consider.

    Wood Stove for Shop Heat

I store the normal aerosol cans for auto maintenance as well as a couple of gas jugs for the mower/quad/etc. Nothing major though. The air quality thing concerns me though because it's been a hot topic of late. I left CA to get away from all the regulations but apparently there's only so much...

Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting bullet experts ?

I think the federals use Nosler partition for the bullets. For off the shelf ammo i'd say you're good either way.

    Wood Stove for Shop Heat

This has been covered here and there in the past but was hoping for some updated info. I'm looking to heat the shop with a wood stove. I can get as much wood as I want, my costs would be to procure an old stove and clean it up, then install. Is this an efficient way to go? In my neck of the...

what are you replacing your U joints with?

Napa has gone to crap, pretty sad really. I buy mine from a heavy truck distributor, they carry timken, spicer, yukon etc. Google and see if there's anyone in your area. It seems these days that the best shops are the ones that don't advertise and don't ask if I want to be a freaking loyalty...

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Starting issue

As others have mentioned, don't be tempted to replace the entire starter. I had the same symptoms at only 150k, the contacts were nearly worn through. Rebuilt the starter with Larry B's parts and got another 60k out of it before selling. Very easy to do, takes less than an hour.

    Check out this Ebay find

It's only an hour or so from me, i'm half tempted to go look at it. I've got to meet the salesmen, my truck must MSRP for $1.5 Million by his logic. Of course the first thing I thought of looking at it :-laf

    Left Coast Diesel, Livermore, CA

Last time I was in there before I moved out of state he showed me the 67' Chrysler they were doing a 12 valve conversion on. I wonder what ever came of that?

    Left Coast Diesel, Livermore, CA

Haven't been in there in a few years, but Erik is first class. Whatever I needed, he'd make sure it got done without upselling any nonsense. I remember one time I had my truck in there and was on crutches, was going to be waiting but made me feel at home, hooked me up with wifi and offered to...

No brake lights, barely functioning cruise control

So a quick update. I got the truck back after new injectors, and backed in so I could watch the brake lights. I was able to completely dictate the brake lights on and off with pulling the pedal up 1/4" or so. I went back over the entire truck again and found the return line to the power...

No brake lights, barely functioning cruise control

That's definitely on my radar. I have a camper shell on it, i'm going to try and squeeze the cover off and shoot the wires. When the brake lights weren't working, the third brake light was included. When the the brake lights were stuck on, the third wasn't illuminating. I have heard of cases...

No brake lights, barely functioning cruise control

Very grateful for the support of the informed minds here and other avenues. Still currently working through the issue, will definitely update when it's fixed. I'm fairly confident it's a combination of a couple things. Once being the TIPM and the other(s) being some wiring issues. I'm...

No brake lights, barely functioning cruise control

I realize it's posted on other forums, I was the one that posted it there.:) The more eyes/experience the merrier when it comes to troubleshooting! Thank you very much for the help. I'm thinking it may be a short/wiring issue and that the two problems are directly connected. I still have...

No brake lights, barely functioning cruise control

About the best I could do was to put in a new switch until I got home. Napa had a 3-yr replacement so I just swapped it out. Same thing as before, no rhyme or reason to the cruise control. It would work when it felt like it for miles and then sometimes go another hundred miles or so not...

No brake lights, barely functioning cruise control

So after lots of searching, I may be more confused than when I began. In my 06 auto, I have no brake lights but have turn signals, running lights etc. The cruise will work sometimes, but only when holding the brake pedal up with my foot. Then it sometimes lasts for hours or sometimes immediately...
