The 5.9 was rebuilt 5 years ago at 225k miles and now has 275k miles on it. When I hit 325k I'll have valve-lash checked & adjusted as needed. I just got the truck back from Diesel Specialists (in Vegas) after they installed new BBI .1's and it runs baby-butt smooth now. No more 'miss' like it...

Yeah.....I sent the same info to Martin and he said to pull all 6 and send them back to him. That's a full month without my truck so I think I'll purchase a new of new BBI .1's and install them and then send him the remans to try and figure out whats going on....then I'll keep them as back-ups.

Whew! I've been running Archoil 6400 & 6500 for the past 10 years...but I do have some 'haze' because of the .5 BBI's I'll put some 'Powerservice' in the tank at the next fill-up to see if it has any affect on the 'haze'. (thanks Oz!)

UPDATE: Received the injector back from Martin @ BBI and the truck runs like a champ now. He replaced the solenoid and remapped the injector to match the other 5 BBI's in my truck. Many thanks to Martin and the crew @ BBI for great work and a quick turn-around.

I UPS'd the injector to BBI and they received it today. It's got a bad coil. They'll repair it and send it back next year ;)

Yes...the shop installed new 6.7 feed tubes, which flow better than the old 5.9's. Great thoughts all. I appreciate your feedback and after a trip to the shop tomorrow I'll get back with an update.

As my previous posts over the past several years indicate, I had a local shop rebuild my 5.9 from the ground up Sept. 2018 and 30k ago (see parts list below). The engine was rebuilt at 225k and now has 255k. It smokes on take-off but thins when once I get going. Just had it smogged last week...

Sounds like you've got it handled. Our biggest problem in town is the machine-shops. We don't have enough and they're backed-up. My block was in an un-named machine shops 'que' for many months which really put my rebuild behind schedule. Hope yours turns out better time-wise.

This is the voltage my 2004.5 runs in the winter when fully warmed up and driving across town. In the winter it tops out at 14.9 to 15 volts on cold days and when it's 115deg/F in the summer, it drops to low 14's. Two volt meters...one for each Cat-bat.
